- I could enter a weekend group ride, full of Harleys, wearing a Kaiser helmet and a black dinner jacket, and I bet they'd accept me!
- It's hellacool!

Sorry. You guys might think it looks cool, but I think it looks like a bike version of the monster in Alien. Or maybe Independence Day.

At this point in my life, even a twinge would be good... ;)

I've already learned from a couple other forums that this bike isn't as rare as the OP hinted, its overpriced, the front suspension doesn't, and it wouldn't be a good deal at all.

But, that's what I originally asked for in the thread title; it's cool to have honest feedback from several "virtual" locations! :thumbup:
 
You should buy it, take it too the mountain top (most be an active VOLCANO) and sacrifice it to Gods! :welcome: :spank::spank:

why should we talk you out of it? it looks particular and i personally like the looks of it. well i like quirky looking things (except for the r1200gs - that is too quirky for me - sorry botch)

only two things stand in your way; actually one

price......i would still call the owner and see if he budges down from the asking price and move from there.
 
Check the service history and pay attention to any problems.

The way I've heard it is that you need to fix any problems on a BMW right away otherwise it gets very expensive to repair. Failing seals on the clutch and shaft drive are an issue from what I recall.

its not old enough to be rare yet, the bike was a marketing flop. so actually it will be rare. probably not any kind of collectors item, but its an odd bike.

BMW's telelever suspension actually works quite well, but its usually beefier than what i see in the picture. all things aside, it should handle better than any other cruiser, except the MotoGuzzi California.

Good deal, NO. but the price isnt sky high or anything.

but my feelings toward the bike are expressed in my previous post.
