my battery was dying earlier when i was posting so i didnt include details, but basicly from my understanding bluemoon (silver/black S1) went into a left turn following athensga (black S2) Athens signaled with his foot that there was gravel on the right hand side of the road which was also a turn off and Bluemoon had rode with some guys the week before that were signaling with their foot if they were about to make a turn so signals got crossed and bluemoon thought he was suposed to turn right but by that time he was on gravel, locked up and slid inches from a guardrail. His absolutly gourgous bike did take some damage to the fairings and right side but it could have been alot worse, but he soldiered on and rode the rest of the way home on a severly sprained ankle.
as for the ticket that happened after lunch and after the wreck. When we left 2 others rode back with Bluemoon to make sure all was well and me, my buddy on the z1000 and athens went on to deals gap from telico plains. We were on the skyway and not really pushing too hard since we already had our fun on the 1st trip across and not wanting to push our luck before getting to the dragon. by the way if you have never been on the cherhola skyway it can be a VERY FAST (speeds can very quickly get up above 120 and not even realize it) and dangerous road since most turns are high speed sweepers and some get sharper throughout the turn. But we were only going 50ish (limit being 45) me and my buddy had just passed a harley on a turn off and coming to a straight and could very clearly see the trooper sitting on the side of the road, as we passed i looked in my mirror and saw athens passing the harley and the the trooper imediatly hit his lights. so we all pulled over and i was honestly clueless as to why we were getting pulled over and about that time the trooper told me and my buddy he had no buisness with us that he had athens and for us to go... i told the trooper he was with us so we would just stick around. He ended up clocking him at 68 in a 45 which isnt too teribly bad considering, but i personally felt horible because here me and my buddy sit being told we were ok when we were the ones who were not exactly obeying all traffic laws through out the day, while athens had been quite calm and just out enjoying the day. Normally cops dont mess with bikers on the road unless they are going extremly fast or reckless and here is where i think i know why he got pulled over...
earlier in the day we met a large group from eastTNrider forums who were also out on the skyway we talked with them for a bit and i quickly noticed that most of them were squids, and even a couple were on track bikes with no tags. We also saw some of them ripping up the skyway going the oposite direction which at the time so were we so i didnt think anything of it, but later on at the dragon we met one of the guys that we had talked to earlier and he began to tell us about some of their "antics" and thats when i pretty much figured that they got the cops called on them but were gone and athens suffered the wrath....
