The FZ6 just can't touch it.

Hard to say with the exhaust, I only had the stock one for about 5 days and the motor was brand new. I dunno??? I get 45ish commuting. On the highway it is better, but when I go on group rides I hit 100+ mph many times so it is hard to say. Once you are over 100 you are really pushing a whole lot of air.

I'm very curious to see what the mileage and power out put does with the PCIII and dyno tune. I supect the mileage will drop off. The place I'm going to used a variety of methods, dyno, O2 and some other method that I can't remember to tune, so it should help, my goal is mid-range, not top end. The FZ has plenty of top end.

The aero-dynamic drag efficiency must meet the efficiency of the driving force (hp + torque) Once this occurs the fuel mileage should be at its peak and on my bike this seems to be somewhere between 68 and 72mph on the run. Riding slower or faster it seems to drop off.

2008 883 sportster gets an estimated 60mpg. I'd rather have a Ninja 250 for the canyons though.

Are you talking about your FZ6?

When I first got my bike, I tested it many times...never got better than 46 even when it was highway only.

I get between 44 & 50 mpg (UK gallons) when I converted it to US gallons it was 36 mpg. HS, whats that all about.

The US gallon is 3.78 liters where the UK uses the Imperial gallon which is 4.54 liters. If you went 100 miles on 2 US gallons you would get 50mpg. If you went 160.9km and got that same 50mpg Imperial you would have used roughly 1.6 gallons as there are 1.2 US gallons in an Imperial gallon. I would think you folks were somewhere near 15-17 miles per liter.

10 US gallons is 37.8 liters where 10 Imperial gallons is 45.4 liters.

I have 3 street bikes, a 2004 XL1200 Sportster Roadster, 2005 Yamaha Roadstar and the 2004 FZ6. The Roadstar gets the worst mileage of them all at between 36 to 40mpg. The FZ6 will go 50 to 54 if I am really careful. Over the last couple of weeks in fuel runs of 140 measured miles the 1200 Sporty has blown them all off averaging 56.3mpg at a run speed of 70mph. The fuel mileage has been calculated with the speedo error input to that calculation. Not bad for an old dog, not bad at all.....

That's because the Harley has trouble running on both cylinders at any given time....


Just kidding... I think the Suzuki VStrom 650 gets close to 80miles per gallon... However, it was in a suzuki page ad, so take that # with a grain of salt.
