Just got a brand new 2007 Saturday. Liking it so far. What's the best way to clean bugs off the wind screen and my helmet?

I just leave a damp paper towel on the visor for a minutes then buff off. As for the fairing - jet wash!

I use a microfiber cloth and the windex. I pour it in a little squirt bottle and keep the bottle wrapped up in the microfiber cloth in the tank bag. If it leaks it will be absorbed, and the microfiber wont scratch your visor over time.
Seems strange maybe, but I use an old panty-hose to clean the window. And no not wearing them during cleaning:Flash:. Just with a bit of water and the bugs fly of your screen. (Just like they are still alive and fly away) Works with other parts of the bike as well.
I use the Honda polish that is a waterless cleaner for motorcycles, works great!!! And the water beads off easier if i happen to get caught in a sprinkle...

Windex works for me. Has anyone one used the Windex wipes? They come in a soft package that can be kept in the tank bag. they look like baby wipes.

+1!! Plexus is da bomb! This isn't just a cleaner, it's a polish that takes out all the micro scratches and leaves a VERY clear view! :thumbup:

usually spit, sometimes whatever cleaner is sitting on the table next to my bike at work.
windshield? nothing...dont do it.

After screwing up my windscreen, Now I'm extremely careful how I clean my visor and windscreen. I only use cleaners that are meant for plastics, so I found Novus. It comes in three types depending on how the severity is. I have both # 1 and # 2. Using cleaners meant for glass and other surfaces may harm the acrylic finish or defogging agent that is applied on the plastic because it contains harsh chemicals, such as amonia, etc.

I also use Honda cleaner with a microfiber cloth. That stuff is awesome. Cleans, waxes and beads that water right off.

Yup and I have used it for a long time. I have also used Plexus and they are both awesome.

I use Plexus. It works great. After their clean, I apply copious amounts of rainX. In my simple mind the bugs will slide off... Of course my testing has proven me wrong

I would strongly urge you to never use a paper towl to clean your sheild/windscreen. Paper towels, wet or damp, will scratch the crap out of them and will ruin the shield.
When I go riding now, I kinda got this from my father, I always carry a small bottle of plexus rapped up in a microfiber in a bag with me. Its small enough where it doesn't take up too much space, and always keep it on top of the pile for quick access.
