Honda CB1000R

Does anyone have any experience with the cb1000r? I saw it online today and it looks pretty impressive, I like the single side swing arm alot.

No experience with it, but I do like it a lot. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the look of stock exhaust (I'm sure that's an easy swap)... and since we're talking CB(number)R.. I would SO totally buy this one if they ever made it!! (CB1100R concept)

Never rode one. I find the Ninja 1000 more appealing though. I wish Honda would have brought the CB1100 to the states instead of the CB1000R. I think they would have found more interest in a modern UJM with classic styling. The CB1000R is facing strong competition from established models like the Z1000, FZ1, and Speed Triple.

It looks really bad ass, but I have no experience beyond a fz6... It's on of those "wouldn't mind taking for a spin"...

:don'tknow:I just don't know what the appeal would be for Honda to bring this bike here...

Z1000 and the FZ1 have proven that the Non-Current 'I got this bike $XXXX off MSRP' for only being a year old loses money.

No knocks to the Z1000 or FZ1 (fantastic motorcycles) in appeal and quality, they just don't sell as well as they could. Honda adding a bike that mimics the Z1000 looks and has the reputation of the FZ1 may break the trend, but I wouldn't bet on it.

The Dude---I'm with you; Honda definitely has brought the wrong motorcycle stateside.

A friend has a white one, I haven't ridden it but he got off a Blackbird onto this one and he says it is a great ride. Stock pipes are gone, he has a unique looking double short pipe and it really improves the look and the sound.

I'm not sure if it is these Lasers but you get the idea

That CB1100 reminds me of the 1980's, yet with updated tech. Very clean machine.
Like the hydrolyric clutch (had that on the 'ole CB650SC)
The only thing missing here is a driveshaft :thumbup:

How about a Triumph Thruxton? Definitely the epitome of the modern cafe racer.

Surprised nobody said anything about this. this is an update of the 919 super hornet that discontinued in 06 (i think) because it didn't sell well. they are hard to find used though because people that have them love them.

and on the topic of cafe bikes you cant forget the ducati sport classic 1000 (out of production as of last year though):banghead:

I don't know what Ducati was thinking by discontinuing the SportClassic GT1000. The dumbest thing they ever did was discontinue the bike right when they featured it in the new Tron movie. Could have boosted sales like crazy.

I almost bought one aways back, but opted for the Triumph Bonneville T100. Didn't think I was ready for such an intense bike.

As for the Honda in this thread, I'm not familiar... but I did check out the new Ninja 1000 and wasn't into it. Felt really bulky to me.
