So i'm coming up on my road test pretty soon, and i know they do it differently different places but i just had a few general questions:

1)I heard they will yell at you if you put both feet down at a stop/intersection, whats the accepted way of stopping? left foot down right foot on the break?

2) I also heard they have you park a bike in a spot by backing in, dunno if they do it where i'm taking the test but whats the proper method of backing into a space with a bike? (blinkers etc?)

3) Not entirely sure what to expect, so....when you took the test what maneuvers did they have you do??

Note: Test is June 15 at 10 am, then work at 2, wish me luck and i'll post the results! (hopefully good results :spank:)

I took msf, so I can't comment, but maybe this will be helpful (looks confusing as hell to me) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1AnPNu6QlI]YouTube - ‪Motorcycle Skills Test For US Motorcycle License Endorsement‬‏[/ame]

Test depends on your state. We didn't have any parking tests for the motorcycle, at least that I can remember. Hope you took the MSF course. Good luck!

You should seriously consider taking the MSF class. Not only will you have your questions answered, you'll learn how to ride using proper technique. In addition a lot of time is spent in the classroom teaching you street riding strategies to help keep you safe.

As Erci has said in a previous thread, most people think that they can ride a motorcycle with the same mentality as driving a car. That will get you killed. Even coming to a simple stop an at intersection, there is a certain area in which you should stop within your lane. Yeah, when it comes to motorcycles there are certain areas where you should stop, and I'm not talking about stopping in the middle of the lane.

FWIW, here in Nevada, the pass/fail rate for a rider taking the skills evaluation at the DMV is over 90%! That's 90% fail:( When our riders take the BRC, our pass/fail rate is over 90% too, that's 90% pass:cheer:

Yeah i was planning on signing up for the msf course shortly after getting my license, i've been on 2 wheels for a long time but it never hurts to learn new things, especially when it comes to your safety. Also I always ride with a defensive mentality when i get on the bike, you definitely can't go in with the same mentality as a car, as you said, that will get you killed. Thanks for the replys!

Reason I didn't sign up for the msf course instead of a road test is because I didn't know about it (otherwise i would have) lol

100% plan on taking the msf course, and the advanced one if they offer it where i am
