So this past Saturday I proposed to my girlfriend. :cheer: We've been dating for 3 years now, and, technically, I was planning to do it in August/Sept this year when we have trip to Greece planned. However, during a small argument I realized that she had some doubts about whether or not I was committed (which I was for a while, but we have slightly different views on "stages" of commitment - not going to bore you with details), so I made one-the-spot decision not to "torture" her for the next few months. Needless to say that was unexpected, so per her own words, I won this round. I just like to throw a curveball like that every once in a while.

Btw, the first thing she mentioned when we discussed what has changed now, that we are engaged, was "now I can really invest into motorcycle gear, since i know I'll have lots of riding ahead of me". :D She rode pillion with me on our third or fourth date (mind you, that was right after i got my first bike and I warned her) and bought her own helmet/jacket/gloves right after. Does this mean we should get matching gear? :D

Should we ditch the idea of diamond ring and get a BMW K1300R instead? ;) I have a feeling my life expectancy will depreciate significantly. :D

Actually it was her idea not to go with the diamond ring, and put money away. I'd already allocated amount of money for it.
I like my gfriend... err... fiance. still getting used to it.

TRUST ME!! She may tell you that she doesn't want a ring but what she really wants is for you to tell her "of course I'm getting you a ring Don't be crazy. You deserve it"

It's part of the female genome to want an ring on their finger. Do yourself a favor and get her a ring. Every time she looks at it she'll think of you. Another plus is that when she is out with her girls all the guys in the club will know she's taken. :)

(I hope you're just joking about the ring......) :spank:

Come on, guys, let me dream of Bimmer just a little bit longer!!!! Don't kill it just yet! :D

According to Michael Scott of Dunder Mifflin, you should spend 3 years of your salary on an engagement ring. You ready? :rof:

I'm glad I'm not the only "Office" fanatic on here. I got a good laugh out of that one the other night!! I looked away for a second at the end and thought I saw something. Is it true that will farrell is taking over for steve carel?

Well done, I proposed earlier this month on top of the Eifel tower in Paris to my girlfriend of 8 and a half years. Just wanted to make sure I could put up with her for a life time!!!

Unfortunately it's true (I'm not a fan).. I'm hoping it's a short-term thing.

i just proposed in jan, she told me she didn't want a ring, and that a CZ would be fine ( she wanted me to buy her a matching helmet / jacket / gloves / boots / and a bunch of other stuff.... turns out, she really didn't want a diamond, so not ALL girls are bad about that !:spank:

Just when I lost all hope... a ray of light in the cold dark emptiness that my wallet has turned into!!!!! :D

congrats, sounds like a good gal...and while I'm no expert on the subject,
pending divorce to prove it, I'm pretty sure that they sometimes say the
exact opposite of what they actually feel, this may be a man test, you should
get her a ring man, the best you can afford

COngratulations!!!! I am working on proposing to my girl, she said a motorcycle is better then an engagement ring, so there is hope yet!
