Ok, i bought my bike and myself a few Birthday present's today!
The black bike has done about 46000km's now, so even though i cant really detect any issue with my steering head bearing's, i have decided to change them...just to be sure!
Picked up an "All Balls Racing" Steering head bearing kit today, and i will be doing the job tomorrow, with the help of my mate, Gazza.
If anyone has done their steering head bearing's, any tips before i dive in, armed with a workshop manual??? :thumbup:
I also have the radiator guard i bought recently, to fit, as earlier this week, i had it powdercoated satin black...same colour as i had my TB's exhaust end caps powdercoated...looks very nice...
Also got some nice new flush mount indicators, and a smoked glass FZ1 tail light to fit into the one piece single seat unit that i am fabbing up to make road legal for use on the black bike....Wont be touching this stuff myself, the guy who is painting the seat unit for me, is going to modify the unit, to take the tail light, and flush mount indicators, as that will require a bit of Fibre Glass work, and i am useless with fibreglass!
Tomorrow, i go and pick up the rear subframe, that i am going to modify for the single seat unit conversion on the black bike...
Finally, i also picked up a new Crankcase cover, and gasket, to finally replace the one damaged when "Pinky" and i went highsiding at the track! So that will get fitted to the new incarnation of that bike tomorrow as well.
Couple of other small things to do as well, like fit some reflective rim stripes to a set of wheels, and change out some OEM sprocket nuts for Stainless.
Oh, and one last job on the list...finish off the rather snazzy looking "new", modified soft pannier bars, that i have been tinkering with...have eve organised getting them finished properly with a hard wearing, rustproofing, weather resistant finish on monday!
Missus is going away for the weekend, and my youngest son is going back to his Mums early tomorrow, so it is gonna be a big weekend in the shed....
