It seemed with the stock pipe it took a long time to start to wind up and start pulling.
With the Scorps and stock cat (No aftermarket ECU, etc) it seemed to run considerably better/smoother with much less "acceleration jump" in the middle RPM's.
Idles fine (I have it set at 1000 RPM), I'm very happy with it the way it is. I'll turn off the helmet stereo just to hear the bike
....
For me, a PCIII is just something else to set up/maintain, possibly fail (which they do on occasion).. That's my opinion....
