The Rant Thread

I don't rant very often, but today was "one of those days".

What is it with grown adults that can't get over their ego's and ignore a fellow worker that they don't get along with?? Gist of it is.. 2 guys, both of the same personality, get on each others nerves. Guy 1 (I'll call him Scott) slides a plastic tub across the floor at guy 2 I'll call him Gary), which hits him in the back of the legs. Gary then picks up plastic tub and hurls it at Scott. Because the tub hits a rack, Gary then grabs a steel engine mount and throws that at Gary.. same as the tub (luckily), it hits the rack and falls to the floor.

I (being the Leading Hand) have to step in and calm the situation. Company policy states I can't discipline my workers, I have to inform the Area Leader. He has a chat to them, and now I'm a "dobber". I wonder what they would have called me if I did nothing and 2Kg's of steel ended up in the guys head and I did nothing to stop it???

I think I need a change of scenery at work, these sooks are starting to get to me.

Dunno if it a wise choice, but I've applied for an Area Leader position.... Probably have to deal with that crap over a entire Plant rather than just my line??? It pays double what I get now, and I can get a new car every 6 months for $50 a fortnight.

Ok, Rant over /// Resume regular scheduled ranting

What ever happened to the "old days"....2 bolkes get the $hits on with each other, they scream at each other for 5 minutes, call each other a "clown", etc, and then laugh about it later at the Pub, over a cold one!!!

These days, people either wanna kill each other over the smallest thing, or if it's not like that, no "normal" avenues of sorting the stuff out can be used, cause it's against some stupid company policy, that was dreamt up in a boardroom, and has no relevance to reality...

As for your predicament Dave, one of those stupid, not relevant policy's put you in that situation, it set you up for it...what a PITA!

Go and kick the dog Buddy, he will get over it, and you will have got rid of your angst!!!

And, by the way, i have seen your dog...maybe kicking it aint a good idea...you might break your foot!

:D

Sounds like a good idea.
Obviously the person currently playing Area Leader is a farting moron.
Its always an issue with workplace politics, since apparently all the systems are meant to actually stop that kind of thing happening, and yet so often the people in charge are useless idiots.

Hope you get the job! That way you can make sure that crap doesn't happen. (and get rid of the two morons)
And those two babies should both grow a pair, its a workplace not a #@%^ing playground. If they aren't responsible enough to follow the most basic OH&S protocols they should both piss off with their 'dobber' ****.

Yup, the "good ol' days"... Gone, and never to be seen again :(

They seemed ok with it after their "chat" with the boss, they realized the stupidity of their actions. Can't help but think I'll get to the bike to ride home tomorrow and I'll have a flat tyre or broken levers though!!!

Hehehe, made me laugh then.. Thanks Jamie :) With my luck though, the neighbour would see me and report me to the RSPCA :rof:

I have problems with kids at work who just don't understand what they can and can't do at work, and this kind of thing happens alot.
Really annoys me and I dont have much patience for it.

If anything happens to your bike tho X.x

Didnt you have another one of those "moments" today...but at a more "spirited" pace???

Yeah. Effin Harley rider thought he was driving a Roadtrain. Coming through a turn on my side of the road.

I did find out that there is one good thing about an open faced helmet though...lol...the look on his dial was priceless:BLAA:. I was fairly moving:rockon:. He'll be down at Target for the sale on underware:eek:.

See if you can organise to ride to work with Silverback with his Craft helmet on:eek:....lol. See if they'll mess with your bike then:thumbup:

For $50 a fortnight, put up with it :D:D:D

On that ride Mikey...Jess was a little bit taken aback!!! It seems she was a little concerned re cornering speeds....Oh well, Tassie will seem like a "Milk run" in comparison....i am a mean bugger sometimes, but at least i now know she can handle it!

Lucky you didn't follow me then:BLAA:....lol. That was training. You should always train harder than you need to go at play:D. She'll be fine for touring now. Especially on roads you won't know, with great big armchair bikes:eek:...lol.

Well, that was my theory...if you can take this, then what we dish up later, will be easy peasy! But, if i followed you, i dont think she would get back on the bike again! :D

But then, you and me dont so much as tour, even when we are touring, it's more like a very long sports ride a lot of the time!!! Now, stop whining about tyres, put some Fred Flinstones on for a couple of weeks, and come to PI with Gazza, Myself, and co.....Pleeeeeease!, even if it is to help me "cope" with you know who!!!!

How 'bout, "NOOOOOO!" in best Dr. Evil Voice.

Nah, seriously, I could get a set of rock hard lumps of granite for touring and put them on and off the bike for long trips.....actually, I probably will, but heading over to P.I. for MotoGP the straight way, and staying in the camping area, then riding back the straight way seems about as much fun as getting into heavy petting with a western taipan, and then poking it in the eye with a burnt stick.

Don't worry its Australia, you'll have to dodge all the holes in the road.
Even the straight ones are exciting; you have holes, piles of loose gravel mid corner, roo's, all the other idiots on the road in cars, not to mention the challenge of finding a clean toilet for stops.

I finally get a long weekend and the weather has gone to $h1t :(
I'm with ya. I've got a 4 day weekend - today - waited around for the pest control guy, tomorrow - day booked out with a girlfriend, saturday - shopping etc etc, maybe Sunday we can go for a ride - probably been raining :shakehead:

Well i went for a ride this arvo...in the rain, and the wind, and yes, the potholes, and debri all over the road, and idiot car drivers that think that a single lane 2 way road, is a dual carriageway, going in their direction....even had a 4WD come around a corner on completely wrong side of the road...pushing me out into the mud on the side of the road....i considered turning around and chasing him, but didnt, but then, the best bit, on my way back down the same road 30 minutes later....the 4 wheel drive was on the side of the road, further down the road, in a ditch, with it's front end all pushed in....cops in attendance....i reckon the driver is in for a bit of pain...his skidmarks started on the wrong side of the road....i did stop, and inform the cop, that this was the very same 4wd that nearly caused me to crash just half an hour ago....

The police officer was very interested in my story, and took a statement....

This might be score 1 to us motorcyclists for a change!!!

:D

Sounds like a bit of natural justice!~

I just think it is ironic that it was the 4WD that ended up in the ditch, in the wet....so much for them being the "go anywhere" vehicle!!! Although, am figuring by the look of the guy who was driving it, he was more likely a rich accountant, and that was the first time the car had been driven outside of the "burbs"...

:D

If they didn't drag him into the ditch and shoot him, then nothing will probably come of it sadly. Glad he didn't get ya mate. W4nker5:(

Yep, serves them right. Mind you, it's not the car it's the idiot behind the wheel.

I would have a 4WD if I could afford a new Landcruiser. Used to have one as a company car - really good. But then, I ride a bike so I'm automatically a better driver :BLAA:
