I put a dark smoke on the red 07 a few weeks ago. I don't have a FINE picture yet, like some of you, but the attached pic was taken by someone else & posted on the two-wheeled Texan site after last weekend's pie run.

Here is a thread to the run- I would have loved to see a few more FZ6's out there. Sealy Pie Run II - 2/23/2008 - TWT Forums

BTW: I bought my Puig from imotorcyclestore.com

Sweet! One like that will look really nice on my black bike. I can't wait to get it. :(

Just ordered Puig racing screen from motorcycle-superstore.com. They price matched it to the kneedraggers.com price ($71.95). My friend ordered some flush-mounts at the same time, so we got free shipping. They had just uploaded the one for the 2007 a couple days ago.

Puig Light Smoke Race '07

Here are some pix of the installed puig screen.

As you can you tell, I chose the light smoke screen. Often enough, at speeds 70 MPH +, I tuck in underneath the screen, chest touching the tank. In this position I can see through the screen; unlike the black or dark smoke. My preference only...

i ordered my black puig 2 days ago from kneedraggers,,,yesterday i got a mail from them informing me that black is not in stock and to be expected in 4 weeks,,,giving me an option to switch to smoke, red or clear...i told them that if they have the dark smoke,,i'll switch it to dark smoke,,,4 weeks is a long time to wait even though im not gonna ride the bike ( another 4 inches of snow dropped today)
today i received another email,,ken from kneedraggers saying that he found a black one for me and gonna be shipping it asap....
i didnt see any black screen pictures so im kinda curious,,,,i'll post some pictures when i install it,,,unfortunately they will be indoor garage shots,,i dont know what they would look like...

i dig the dark smoke on mine. the install was, to say the least, brainless, and as i am not one to tuck in or use a camera, the dark color was the only choice for me. the decrease in wind noise is minor, i got the slightly taller racing model.

Quick question about installing these. Is it really just a simple task of removing the existing screws and replacing the screen or do I have to remove the plastic behind to gain access to the nuts on the back?

If it's as simple as just taking the bolts out and replacing the screen, I'll do it tonight when I get home. If I have to remove the plastic bits on the back, I'll need to wait for the weekend.

Of course, I'll post before and after pictures.

Just remove the screws (on an '07 anyway) and replace the windscreen. A 10 minute deal at the most. There is no nuts on the back... they are just rubber grommets that the screws self thread into.

Thanks for that. I just didn't want to take the screws out and lose the nuts if there were any.

Just thought I would add some more pictures. It is the light smoke.

By the way, the windscreen is like night and day for me at sub-50mph speeds in terms of wind deflection. I am 6ft and it hits the middle of my faceshield and rolls of the top (cannot even feel it at these speeds). However, it is always windy here and above 55mph my head kind of bounces around in the turbulence on either side of my helmet, but it sure beats constantly straining my head against the wind the entire time.

Ok, here's the best pic I can manage at the moment. It's hard to tell but it's the dark smoke racing screen. I didn't feel any wind on the way to work at all, but I haven't taken it above 50 yet. I'll post some better pics later.

By the way, how do you do the thumbnails??

Man, all ya all are a horrible influence on me! Just placed an order for one, via solomotoparts. Hope it gets here soon!

Welcome to the dark side. I got mine from solomotoparts as well and it only took a week to get to the UK. I'll definitely buy from them again.

Yes, that's Buckingham Palace in the background.

Here's a close-up where you can see the new red bolts as well.

Nice! Height wise how does the Puig touring screen compare to th Yamaha touring screen? I am 5'8" and the stock screen looks to be fairly short.
