I was thinking you... being winter and all down there:spank: Perhaps it would cheer you up to see some summer snow. Snapped this picture today at only 1,600m and we still have snow from last winter.


OK it is melting but this is July. Mighty late to have snow this low. I was riding Bucks Lake Road, one of CA's best twisty motorcycle roads with no traffic! Ozzieboy would love this road.


This is Lake Oroville with our mini Golden Gate Bridge- Green not Orange like the real on over in San Francisco.

Winter here and I'm not enjoying it

Perth is going through it's coldest spell in 20 odd years. The bird bath has been freezing over and in Chittering, we have been getting -0C' temperatures

Yep, it seems abnormally cold in Adelaide too...in fact, it is 3pm in the afternoon, and my back lawn still has due on it from last night...and it is in "full sun" right now....

Thanks for the pics, last time i saw snow like that on the side of the road, was in France, near Monte Blanc...a very long time ago!

And yes, if the road has lots of corners in it....Ozzieboy would set up camp i reckon....he sorta does here!

Yes, it is a beautiful sun filled day outside, with no wind, but it is still very cold...

2 degrees C every morning riding to work lately, had my Oxford hot-grips up too 100% this morning... and only just felt the heat through my gloves.

Thanks for the pics Wazp... You know... I've never seen snow in person... Would love to go skiing, just don't wanna ride in the crap.

Yeah, i have been thinking about it, just been focussing on other stuff that has taken a higher priority...but i did notice that Oxford have updated the styling of their heated grips, when Cam (Bikebiz) posted pics of his new heated grips...and i like, much funkier than the old design.

I need some "heated grips" inside right now....my hands are freezing as i type this...and the gas heater is on 11!!!!

It only goes to 10!

Yes, but we can still ride all year round, just a matter of wearing the right gear...Maybe some Gauntlets to go with the heated grips, cut the wind chill factor....Hand Guards also help, but they are a bit "dorky"! I know i have them!

I grew up in Minnesota and I never had gone through a winter without snow and real cold (one night it was -46c) so I had to get used to no snow (except up in the mountains) in Ca during the winter. It was an easy adjustment

Imagine being shut in a freezer, with the airconditioner on...lol.

I don't feel the cold too badly, but I must admit, I was a little chilled last night riding home in my leathers with just a 'T'shirt under them.

As for cold weather riding gear, might I suggest a visit to the local dive shops...lol. I used to dive all year round in my 3mm suit, with a shark skin under it. The shark skin is not much thicker than a rashy, but it has a polar fleece lining, and is wind resistant and as warm as 2.5 mm of neoprene. Slip one of these under your gear, and you'll be glowing red by the time you get to work...lol. You can even get hoods and socks. Slip these under your gear when you go camping and sleep in them:thumbup:.
