Saw a YAMAHA car today

Well, at least it wasn't a Monster sticker. Never understood the desire to freely advertise energy drinks.

Monster's marketing is nothing short of genius. They created a logo that became an instant success and now you see it everywhere. Obviously it costs to have the Monster logo on Rossi's race bike but the thousands of caps, t shirts, stickers etc you see are doing it for free. One of my colleagues even has a Monster cover for his iPhone.

Lone, I have to wonder if it's the word or the tuning forks. 
Then again I'd rather not know the location.
I like the Monster logo and agree it's brilliant, simple and distingishing like the Yamaha logo with the tripple tuning forks.

I have seen SHO's with a YAMAHA blue oval on the grill in place of the Ford oval.

I've wondered for years why they didn't make cars? (They make everything else)
Other bike makers have cars. Triumph, (remember those?), Honda, Beemer, Kaw makes bulldozers....BIG bulldozers, and Suzuki sells cars, (though I think they're made by Daihatsu), and maybe others. (I'll bet if they did get into the cager business it would a fine ride. JMO)

I have owned a Triumph Car....gas guzzling, smoke blowing, slow, handled like a brick...very English!!
But you know what, i loved that car...with it's wooden door trim, wooden dash, super plush leather seats, and a trunk the size of a small 1 bedroom dwelling!

A bunch of Poms decided to resurrect the old Ariel name, but not with a bike, but with an open wheeled car, the Ariel Atom....It has a Honda CBR1000 motor in it, putting out 220kw of power...it holds the record for the quickest time around the Top Gear test track....I want one!

I have owned a Triumph Car....gas guzzling, smoke blowing, slow, handled like a brick...very English!!
But you know what, i loved that car...with it's wooden door trim, wooden dash, super plush leather seats, and a trunk the size of a small 1 bedroom dwelling!

The Ariel Atom is a brutal car. I have a friend who owns one. You are wrong on the engine though. They use either a Honda K20 four cylinder turbo or a Ecotec GM four cylinder turbo. my friend's Atom is a 2007 and is supercharged instead of turbocharged. Still, 1300 lbs and 300hp is nothing to sneeze at.

Most aren't aware, but yamaha and toyota are working closely together.
Yamaha are making the motors for some of the cars that are being sold. Quite odd opening a toyota bonnet and seeing a yamaha engine.
The reason that yamaha were chosen, was because of their high standards in production. I was also told that each piston in thse 4 cylinder car engines is measured and fitted by hand, to ensure that each and every piston is within spec. We're talking thousands of a mill here
