I have owned a Triumph Car....gas guzzling, smoke blowing, slow, handled like a brick...very English!!
But you know what, i loved that car...with it's wooden door trim, wooden dash, super plush leather seats, and a trunk the size of a small 1 bedroom dwelling!
A bunch of Poms decided to resurrect the old Ariel name, but not with a bike, but with an open wheeled car, the Ariel Atom....It has a Honda CBR1000 motor in it, putting out 220kw of power...it holds the record for the quickest time around the Top Gear test track....I want one!
The guys I knew that used to own Triumphs loved them. They were tiny, unreliable, and the electrics were (back then) typically British - a nightmare.
It's like so many things in life, (scooters, one car, a dog, a pair of shoes, or your child), they don't have to be perfect for you to love them. (Thanks for your post)
