Who has a tank bag?

looking to get a new tank bag, i already have a large icon one, but for days when im packing light, its toooo big. Its nice for taking the lunch to work some days, but when i only want to take a drink or two, or maybe the camera along for rides i want something a little more compact. Anyone have experience with any good tank bags?
I have this one.

as you can see, its just massive for day trips....

need something smaller for throwing a couple sodas and such

I've got both the Small, and Large, Bags Connection tank bags. The small I leave on my bike all the time, and it holds a Newsweek folded, my tire gages, bee-sting stuff, kickstand plate, cellphone, camera, and a bottle of wine if I'm on my way home. The larger bag I use on trips, when I need more storage capacity.
The unique thing about Bags Connection gear is you have to attach a mount to your gas cap ring; the bags then snap onto that ring. This is good in that it's a clean mounting system, no scratches in your paint, and you can detach the tank bag instantly to take it with you. It's bad if you're a racer; the mount sticks up and you can't slide your chest over the gas tank during really aggressive riding (which I'm too old for anyway). The mount also accepts GPS holders and, something I love, video camera mounts! :thumbup:

I use the Joe Rocket Manta, and LOVE it!! It's perfect for day trips. Holds my (rather big) wallet, camera, water/soda, a cloth and spray for leaning off my visor bugs. It is small enough that it doesn't interfere with seeing the gauges, or leaning on the tank if you want. Plus it comes in lots of colors (mine is pink).

I use the Firstgear Silverstone mini tank bag... Fits great. Looks like it was made for our tanks. And it is expandable up incase you need it. Strongly recomend.

I got the Joe Rocket Hammerhead bag this week and am pleased with it. It's not a huge bag, but it's not my primary storage space and it fits the shape of the tank well. The biggest selling point for me were the clear cell phone and GPS pockets on top. I have an android phone w/ GPS and navi and it fits into the cell phone pocket. I stuffed a couple napkins behind it to press if flush against the plastic and I can use the touch screen (resistive, not capacitive) with my gloves on. Now I can text while riding.

Just kidding, but I'll admit I've already used it while riding to check the NEXRAD radar via the WeatherBug app. It's certainly not as convenient as a real mount for a phone/GPS closer to the gauges, but it get's the job done in the rare case that I get lost. I also used another GPS app to gauge the speedometer error. I think I could put the EZPASS from my car in the GPS pocket.

It cost me about $60 from motorcycle superstore. I got the black to go with my bike. If it didn't have "Rocket" on the side, you would think it was made by Yamaha for the FZ6.

I hate tank bags. They get in the way and make me feel like a mule. I'll load 17 tons on the rear where I cant see it and it doesnt interfere with my moving around, though.

I have a Cortech Super Mini for just riding around. It fis just fine and is big enough for a camera, bottle of water, baseball hat and some other bits and pieces.

Rumor has it that I will be getting a Nelson Rigg SLR-25 solar tank bag with the magnetic and tail bag straps for father's day for longer rides. Hopefully the solar panel will allow me to use my iPhone as a track recorder to keep a record of my rides. For longer rides I can use it as a tail bag and use my Super Mini on the tank.

I have the yamaha sport tank bag. It's not to big but still holds a couple bottles of water, phone, and other random stuff. All six magnets in it touch the tank and hold well.

Botch, what bags do you have and do you have any pictures of them mounted to the bike? I've looked at those bags and they're expensive but look really nice. The option to run power to them looks pretty slick.

I didn't realize my bike would run without a tank bag until this last Sunday. We had our big work ride and I took off the tank bag for that ride. Felt like something was missing.

Mine is a Nelson Rigg. Not sure what model but it is expandable. I love it.

Morning, ive alwas had the oxford tank bags, which are well shaped have loads of pockets,watcerproof cavers & are expandable for all the weekend gear .
I also have the panniers as well.
What more could a guy want.
