Stalling issue - Any ideas??

I took my new bike (2007 FZ6) out for about 120 mile ride today and found that it was stalling out (maybe 8 times). Here are the situations where it happens, perhaps you veteran owners may ne able to assist me.

Slowing down rapidly it stalls out in 3rd and 4th
Slowing slowly to turn street corners in 2nd
When in 2nd slowing to stop at a light or sign

I am able to get her going again without pulling off but this really is strange to me. My husband took it for a ride and found the same things happening.

Any ideas?

mine started to do that after i installed my power commander. It seemed any time i pulled the clutch in and dropped RPMS rapidly it would happen. The people who dynoed my bike just cranked up the added fuel at idle and it seemed to go away. Not sure if that would help you as well. How is your intake system? Any clogs? clean filter?

Good question - I just picked up the bike from the dealer, no owners manual available through them. So I do not know where the air filter is, but my husband can figure that out!!!

If the bike is stalling out in whenever the RPMs are low, then you could have a possible intake problem (air filter/throttle bodies)

If it is stalling out no matter where the RPMs are then you might have an intermittent sensor problem.

It is usualy when the RPMs are dropping, so thank you - I will check out your suggestions!

You might want to check the idle on it and make sure it is hovering around 1300.

Not that you described the problem I had, but my was on occasion stalling which turned out to be a bad battery. That however followed by not being able to start the bike afterwards which you haven't mentioned.

You might want to check the idle on it and make sure it is hovering around 1300.

Not that you described the problem I had, but my was on occasion stalling which turned out to be a bad battery. That however followed by not being able to start the bike afterwards which you haven't mentioned.

Thanks! Is the idle adjustable on a fuel injected bike? See, that's the problem with no owner's manual! Thanks for sending one. My husband ordered a Haynes manual today and I'll get the service manual and that will probably allow him to adjust some things.

A friend mentioned that the clutch may be dragging a bit. So, we'll check that, too!

Yes it is. It is on the left side of the bike under the tank (but, you can see and adjust it without removing the tank). Clockwise turn increases the idle and counter-clockwise decreases it.

You might want to try running some seafoam through it first before you start tweaking things, just to make sure your fuel system is clean. You'd be surprised what that stuff will clear up

A great big thanks for that! It does idle at about 500-600, which is very low in my husband's experience. My Ninja idled at about 1400 and his ZRX at about 1200. Maybe that is the entire problem!

Will do that as well. Have used Seafoam in the fuel but a pretty knowledgeable guy on the ZRXOA site recommends Chevron fuel system cleaner as a better option.
