Well here is the first of my 10 posts that I have to make before I can list my 2007 FZ6 for sale on here. How is everyone doing today? Hopefully no one wastes their time reading this. If so, I am sorry.

I'm unfortunately unable to ride a sportbike without pain anymore. I broke my thumb last fall and had to have a plate and 6 screws put in. the lean that i have on the bike has is too much for my hand. gonna have to get a crusier style bike. So, hopefully someone can have some fun on it.

These "garbage posts" will not count towards your overall count to be able to list your bike for sale. I told you to read the following: http://www.600riders.com/forum/site-announcements/29938-please-read-you-could-get-banned.html

**********************
Marketplace/Classified Ads Posting Rules:

YOU MUST BE A MEMBER FOR 30 DAYS AND HAVE A MINIMUN OF 10 ACCEPTABLE NOT GARBAGE POSTS OR BE A SUPPORTING MEMBER BEFORE YOU SELL ANYTHING ON THIS FORUM.*

This goes for trading items as well. This eliminates the spam, the "bots", and the theif. It protects everyone involved. It is a rule set by the owner, and followed strictly by the Moderators. Please follow it.

* NO EXEPTIONS!!!!

This is a black and white rule. It doesn't matter why it's a rule or if it's unfair. I'm sorry it directly affects you but I will not hesitate to enforce it.

Thanks for the reply cali. not really black and white though, considering it is based on someones opinion what is garbage and whats not. I could just as easily post a question that i already know the answer to. you would consider that an acceptable post (im sure) but it would just be wasting peoples time considering i would not even go back to check it. I'm not trying to be a trouble maker. I posted my bike for sale before reading the rules which i did not see. I contacted two separate moderators and apologized for doing that. all i want to do is post my bike, i dont want to chit chat about the best mods for my bike or what kind of oil should i use. So what do you want me to post? you say i have to post something....you didn't tell me someone would be looking over my shoulder saying "Thats Garbage! You can't post that" I thought it was ok as long as it wasn't offensive. And i don't think my post was offensive.

Hey mate,

I feel sorry for your injury, and that you are REQUIRED to sell your FZ6 (I would cry!)

But..

The for sale section is protected for a reason: so that people don't come here to flog their bike and piss off, without contributing to the website. Which is what you intend to do, judging by your first post.

This is a place to make friends, learn things, see awesome bikes, show off your bike, and contribute to the discussions available.

If you don't intend to do any of these things, I don't think you have any right to sell your bike here.

I understand where you are coming from, and I respect that. By the same token if you type in fz6 for sale into google you will find this site. So I'm sure people look for bikes to buy on here without contributing to your site.

That may be true but most web forums have similar for-sale rules. Over at the car forum I frequent, we have had so many scammers attempting to sell that we now require 100 posts before you are allowed to sell. If and when we see 'garbage' posts and threads, we delete them, removing the posts from the user's post count.

We have a 'un-moderated / no rules' for sale section. If you click on that link, it takes you directly to craigslist. Just sold my Shadow there. :) got a great price and it was gone in a week.

haVok, I wish you the best of luck selling your bike. It's a shame you weren't able to enjoy it...it really is a fun bike to ride!

And I'm not going to beat a dead horse here. I think everyone else has already covered most of it. The rules are here so that the for sale forum doesn't become cluttered with spam and garbage for sale ads (not saying yours is). Also, I think sxty8goats has a good point. If you haven't already, try craigslist and cycletrader. Both of those are free and would probably yield pretty good results.

Thanks to you who replied showing some consideration. I was just rubbed the wrong way by the fact that I was told I had to post, and then was being told what I posted wasn't valid. I just want to find someone who can enjoy my bike, cause its doing me no good sitting in the garage. Thanks guys

I could try that but if that didn't work, then who would want that ugly thing

It can always be put back to stock and sold... but if you really do like the bike, perhaps some bar-backs and maybe even a set of bars with more offset to seat you more upright would do the trick. Granted, you'd need some longer cables (likely) but it's not a whole lot of money and effort to try and make the bike work for you.

Lots of options out there. If not, Yamaha has a GREAT answer for your need:

Well put

well on the other side, what if he is a good and legit rider, who missed this forum, had an accident and would like to sell the bike, perhaps by advertising it here he could make someone very happy.. Perhaps add some fz-6 forum discount or something ;)

Recent events led to the rule for post/content qualification before submitting an item for sale in the Marketplace. Reading between the lines, this site is for the benefit of participating members, not those who are trying to profit from a select audience. I have deleted MANY threads that did not qualify (in my opinion) and sent a PM to each OP to let them know why it was deleted. I have received replies apologizing for the oversights but never an challenge to the rule interpretation such as the one posted by haVok.

Bottom line: I will continue to make judgment calls for the Marketplace Forum as best as I can unless/until the site Administrator tells me different.

I don't disagree with any of the forum rules, but FWIW (and that's not much according to my wife) I think this post IS useful.

Maybe Cali (or someone) could post a link of this conversation on the rules as an example of what not do to.:don'tknow:

I also agree this post has become very useful, found out about rules that i didn't know of before. Which is why i'm guessing cali hasn't deleted this thread. correct me if i'm wrong.
