4 1/2 years, 42175 miles. Replaced with RK 530 chain and Sunstar sprockets, stock gearing.

My OEM setup was still on the bike when I sold it at 25K miles. I recommended to the purchaser that it was starting to develop a couple of stiff links, and the sprockets were just starting to show wear.
He replaced both sprockets and the chain. If I'd kept the bike I would have left it on there for another 5 K or so.

I don't know the life of chain...??
I changed mine at 25000, couple of months ago, because of the O-Ring failures.
Sprokets and Chains looked O.K. to me, no wearing whatsoever.
Just worried about the o-rings >> don't know why those o-rings were failing?
I guess that I rode on the rainy(little snow) with alot of sands.
And I had not cleaned the chain afterwords for couple of weeks >>> that might caused.
When I tried to clean chain, I found many o-rings were tearing out from chain links...

I am a very consistent luber and i have 24k miles and it still looks like new...

Thanks for these comments.
I clean my chain twice a year and lube about every 100 miles so I guess this protects the o rings and rollers. The cleaning process lets me examine the chain as well.

If I may ask: Did you use an oily chain lube or a wax? (Perhaps abrasives stick to the wax more?) I was just wondering if this makes any difference? I use both and sort of stagger the use of each. Thanks!

I guess that the o-ring failures happened after some thick (wax?) type lubricants.
Before, I used very thin oil type, but those oil type tends to flying off at the wheel (hard time for cleaning the rear wheel, everytime I ride some milages)
So, I changed some thick type.
Now, I'm using just type of between Oil - Wax; not so thin nor thick.
Thanks for the tip, I'm going to keep current one for a while, and see what happens.
