The Return of the RD350?

Got looking around and stumbled on some information, about a year old mind
you, that Yamaha had a concept bike around, a new RD350. The more I read,
the more excited I got as the thought of a 2 cylinder chain saw on tires with
70HP at around 300 pounds reconnected me with my inner hooligan. I'd have
to buy one, I'd be 18 years old again, alas, I can only dream.....

I got my liscence on an RD250,loved that bike

My first true street bike (also got my license on) was a 1975 RD350 (Orange).. An old man in a 73 Ford station wagon turned left in front of me (1977) and totaled it, messed me up pretty bad too. I really liked that bike......

If that 2 stroke bike made it to the states, I'd be making room in the garage...

same here, an orange '73...great bike...took it apart one winter and had the
cylinder ports done, new reeds, expansion chambers, messed with the jetting,
when I got it tuned it was down right scary, farted and warbled it's way in first
to 10K and then when it came on the pipe, OMFG...you had be quick with the
shifter and not afraid of wheelies...what a rush...downside was I traveled with
a pocket full of spark plugs

I have a feeling that it will only come out in Asia some were they still have a lot of 2stroke machines around there. I would love to see it in the US but I don't think it's gona happen :thumbdown:

it would be a bold move..2 strokes are polluters..but its about time someone carried the batton for the 2 stroke,the technology must be there by now to make a reliable, and clean engine.
