Question for Rizoma Grip Owners

I have installed my sportline grips and everything seems ok except I have about 1/8" side to side play on the throttle side is this normal or did I screw something up?

better to have side to side play than be tight, i think side to side just gives you a little play when giving it throttle. .. words of wisdom... on clutch side, make sure you LOCKTITE those little set screws, i had mine wiggle loose at 50 mph and my whole clutch side grip just spun freely...

Thanks for tip on clutch side, I guess I'll go out there and see why the play is happening.

Mine have a tiny bit of side to side play, never been in an issue in 12k miles. +1 on the loctite for the little screws!

ok so the play on the throttle side is because the the throttle tube on the rizoma is a little big on the bar, did I miss something that goes between grip and bar? I dont believe the instructions mentioned anything but maybe I just overlooked it?

If you do use the Locktite use the non permanent type.

You didn't miss anything that would go between the throttle tube and handlebar. The Sportline grips fit just like the OEM grips, it's just that you never noticed the slight free play.

And as far as the side-to-side movement, that's normal. IIRC, my '06 had a very thin "washer" that sat between the grip and kill-switch housing. I never could figure out why that was there until I put the Sportline grips on. The only thing I could come up with is that it fills a bit of the gap that's left between the grip and housing.
