Here's to hoping they take care of the issue im having. I got the seat recently and the nose looks like something is protruding out the side! I dont abuse the seat in any way shape or form and have barely ridden since ive gotten it.

This is the best pic i could take:

They sent me a replacement that had the pan cracked in half. After that - nothing. No response to any of my emails, no refund - no nothin'. My guess is that they use the USPS because it is the cheapest. However, the USPS has size restrictions on the package dimensions. Both boxes that I received looked like the one in Ace Ventura when he was posing as a UPS guy. The boxes were too small and not packed in a way that could withstand normal shipping abuse.

Wow, thats really not a confidence inspiring story, crap. I hope the same thing doesnt happen to me. On a lighter note you totally stole my ace ventura joke about the crumpled box because i mentioned that same thing in another post when i first got the seat!!!!

I wish they had a number to contact them.

Just to add onto the story I checked with my credit card company and they have no phone number at all on file for TS. I have problem with buying a calling card to call Italy but its not very helpful when there is no number to call!!!! Can anyone help with that?

Firstly they are in France, secondly they must use another shipper for Europe as mine came well packed.

Ooops, i meant to say i have NO problem using a calling card i guess. Thanks for giving me the number. Now i have to figure out how to dial it since it looks like a social security number to me!!!! You are right, i screwed up, France it is. I hope i get some english prompts on the phone.

Just to follow up they responded to my email and this is what they said:

Hello,

We have shown your photo directly to our director and he has informed us that it
cannot be a defect on the seat, it may have shocked ornot correctly installed on
the bike. Exceptionally we can repair it without charging the modification and
the new seat cover but you have to bear the shipping costs, to us and back to
the US.

Thank you very much in advance for your understanding.

Best regards,

Top Sellerie

Ok, so i installed the seat wrong? Are you kidding me? A shock to the seat? What the hell does that mean? I didnt crash the bike or take a 500 pound gorilla on a ride neither. So are they saying they will fix it but i have to pay to ship it back and forth? Getting very frustrated here. Feel like disputing the charge on my CC at this point im so annoyed.

edit: i found the very first picture from the day i got it and if you look you can see it although it is very slight in this picture.

I sent this to them but since i didnt realize it originally i dont think they will rule in my favor.

here's everything that just went through my head as i read this.

:don'tknow:
:rof: not for you but as a response to you "mounting the seat incorrectly" - how is that even possible?

i'm so happy i got a seat that seems to be made well with no defects before i read about all of y'all's stories. i don't think i would have bought one. but now that i have one what am i to do...

i'd have no problem disputing some or all of the charges if i were you. you have not gotten what you paid for and they aren't willing to help out. well they are as long as you shell out another $150 bucks to ship your seat across the ocean. and as with jman, there's no guarantee that what you get back will be any better. he got a broken seat pan with his new seat and no replies back from them when he contacted them about it.

so sorry to read about this.

It is sad to know that Top Saddlery has gone downhill. They are the best seats out there and seems like a ton of sales have spoiled them. Surprising to see so many FZ6 seats in their bargain bin and not a one FZ1 seat.

I am one of those lucky people who got a defect free seat as well (at least it is OK at the moment). But, as all seats do get old, there will be time to change it (either current one, or because I have a new bike). I am thinking that it will very likely not be another Top Saddlery. It is a shame. When you are luckly enough to get a good one, they are very very nice.

i refuse to pay to ship it back and forth no less so the first thing i will do is bring it to a local luggage repair place which has fixed some hockey equipment of mine over the years to see what they say. if not then then a boot repair place. If both want too much i will take it up with my credit card company. Its ridiculous.

Just to follow up on this thread after sending them a very long email stating my dissatisfaction they replied saying sorry, that they will not cover the cost of shipping. they said the seat could have been returned within the first 7 days but they neglected to say if they would have even paid for THAT shipping.

I will absolutely NEVER purchase another product from them for sure and will take my issues up with my cc company although i have my doubts about that.
Defective from day 1, but i missed it. so a few weeks later and i have to hold the bag. BS, total BS. So much for quality control.

I only wished Mustang made nice looking seats for the FZ. I have had zero issues with their products over the years.

Let us know how your credit card company views this issue (and which card it is). I would very much like a TS seat, but I'm not willing to jump through any hoops if the seat arrives defective. American Express has backed me up when I have had little customer service issues in the past. I was thinking about rolling the dice (with the backing of AMEX or Visa), but it'd be good to know whether that's really a backup or not.
