FZ6 Side Car implementation ???

Hi, there.
I've very interested in small figure FZ6 Sidecar (low budget) for my bike.
If somebody knows about this modification, please share with me.
The reason that I wanted is that.. for the longer touring, for the some OFF-ROAD capabilities, and for more joy... ha ha ha
I searched internet, but most of them are for the some bigger bikes and those are expensive.
I don't have plan to put passenger on it, but some luggages.
As I really hate the wind at the road, I imagined that this sidecar might help some stabilities against heavy wind??? (not sure, tips welcome for this issue too)

i'd love to have info on this too. not for now, but when my kids get a little older i'd love to be able to put a side car on the bike. i think it'd look a little funny on an fz6, but the kids won't care.

Side cars will completely change how the bike steers... it will in effect become a 3 wheeled car. The complex cast frame of the FZ6 would also make fitment of a side hack a complex thing, and I personally believe the amount of grief from the weird steering would out weigh any benefit in stability from the wind.

If you want to haul more stuff with you on a trip, I'd suggest a trailer before a side car.

I'd start with a DIY hack book. (Not that I can find one...)

shame on you guys! Side cars are brutal on motorcycle suspension, brake and drivetrains. The FZ6 really only has brakes that are up to the task and even that would be stretching it. Likely one emergency stop would warp the rotors which are really freaking expensive to replace.

Also, as mentioned above, the frame is aluminum and the engine is suspended (so no lower frame rail for attaching the "hack"). I wouldn't put that kind of stress on a sport bike frame.

I've been kind of interested in sidecars too, mainly as a way to engage wife/kids. My wife would never get on the FZ6, and kids are way too young to be safe. In a sidecar, that would be a riot, especially with the kids. Just for luggage though - no way.

I wouldn't let a few nay-sayers kill the Idea before it's even fully explored. Sure there are reasons not to do it. There are countless reasons not to do a lot of the $hit we do, but we do these things because they're different, fun, interesting, challenging, and almost always rewarding.

I wanted a sidecar for family involvement as well but did not pursue the"dream" due to co$t. Just to throw it in the mix......how about a trailer modded to accomodate either a passenger(s) or extra luggages?? Is that idea "doable"? Would it be street legal? This route should not change the FZ6's handling capabilities, as long as the trailer is connected by ball & socket. Just my $0.02.

Its not the right kind of frame to do it.

BMW R90 make great ones. The Ural is a ready to go system.

I want to fly the car down the main drag in town too. Just the FZ is not built for it.

might not seem like a viable option for you... but based on the costs involved maybe you can just start looking around for a bike that already has a sidecar. i remember last summer someone was selling a cx500 with a sidecar for 1500. i just looked on craigslist and someone had a very nice 78 cb750 with sidecar attached for 3500.

you can check multiple craigslist sites at once based on how close they are to you. it's pretty handy.

Interesting idea about a sidecar and the first I've heard about anyone wanting to do it to an FZ6! That would be a major mod and a half!!

Much like 'trikes' I fail to see why anyone would want to add a '3rd wheel' to a 2 wheeled vehicle and basically destroy all the handling and characteristics of what makes a motorcycle a motorcycle. Might as well just go out and rent a convertable and put the top down.

I would like my daughter to have a ride with me as well, but it's not going to be untill she's probably 13 or 14 and is old/strong enough to ride pillion. Some things in life you just have to wait for to do.

And as for OP...I'd definitely would recommend upgrading the front if you do this. R6 fork mod, probably R6 Ohlins would be best, upgraded rotors (EBC or Galfer) and steel braided brake lines.
