Any suggestions on the protective over-pants? I need some that are relatively lightweight and won't wrinkle the work-clothes. All I'm finding on-line is rain gear.

You bet. I have the First Gear HT Air 2.0 mesh pants. I also have a pair of their Escape pants. Both of them are sold by New Enough.

They go on/off very easily. You're probably going to get slightly wrinkled from using such pants. Wrinkles vs. a nasty road rash. For me, that's a no-brainer.

Some folks don't like mesh pants as they're never going to be as strong as a "solid" fabric, I understand this view and don't totally disagree. But I view them as "one use" type of pants. If I have an unplanned separation from my bike, yeah, they'll likely get ruined. So be it, as long as they protect me.

Sorry to hear that. It's the worst type of accident - in that there was probably nothing to be done to avoid it. You can try to minimize riding next to a car, but will be impossible to avoid completely in mildly busy streets. It's just One Of Those Things that motorcyclists are exposed to, and your only real option is to pray harder, which is of various level of comfort, depending on your religious beliefs.

i orderd a few pairs of overpants from motorcyclesuperstore.com got some sick sick deals! btw i swapped out my top.s seat with the new stocker .. ehehe the dealer is super nice to me and deff deserve my buisness good thing is i never put the 2 brothers on the other bike since now its ready to roll onto this one yay! i will make this one an exact replica basicly maybe i can make her believe she was my first true "fz" love haha....

I also wear a pair of the FirstGear pants and have the same view as Michael. They are "single use" but they are also priced that way. They aren't the best protection but better than jeans. They aren't meant for race-speed accidents either, just your average 70 mph or less type of off. Race/track days, still only recommend leathers!

Even though they are mesh, with the liner in, I wear them down to freezing temps and never had a problem with cold legs. Great overpants! The liner is also waterproof/windproof.

Shave the area so you can easily change the bandages to keep it nice a clean.

During Winter riding, I wear touring pants (mostly for cold) but I put the knee armor back in early this year; after seeing this stuff, it's staying in).

In Spring, I'll be getting those knee/shin guards for when I don't wear the touring pants. I have 2 pairs of Kevlar jeans and wear those often too.

Heal quick man and we look forward to the pics of the new ride.

now you tell me !! actually the worst was the "non stick" bandage which turned out to be a regular one yeah... it was grown into my skin after a few hours ... i had to go to the doctor to get it removed oh and yeah the asphalt.. yeah i dont know if anyone ever had some nice asphalt in their leg but the ER removes it with a Flubbin wire brush..

After watching a friend go through it, without any pain relief because his helmet hit the ground? That is EXACTLY why I am ATGATT. His screaming still reverberates in my head when I think about it and I don't ever want to be in that position if I can help it.

Most definitely +10 on this one!! Make sure it is not expired, too, so you get the triple antibiotic benefit, too. I'm so glad you found some pants for a good price.
