Anyone experience this???

Have this ever happened to anyone? Sand or minute pebble being carried up into your helmet by the up draft and get in your eyes. This happen to me quite often lately with my KBC helmet. I don't recall if it ever happened with my Scorpion helmet.

Another good reason to always wear additional motorcycle glasses while you are riding.

Occasionally with the Z1R helmet but never with the RF-1000 Shoei. I often wear the chin screen on the Shoei though. That makes a HUGE difference in wind and noise.

That's why I always wear sunglasses inside my helmet. The FZ6 seems to cause more stuff to bounce up towards the bottom of my helmet than other bikes I have ridden.... no fairing gives much different air flow, with a lot less 'schlock' ingestion.

Yea I agree with this solution ....I wear a pair of riding glasses my wife got me from the Harley shop...nothing worse than something getting in your eye in traffic...

My EXO 1000 has that same type bottom cover. It also has lower noise characteristics than my HJC. I also always wear additional eye protection.

Interesting, I've had the oppposite experience with the RF-1000. Probably 50% of the time I end up with something floating/buzzing around in my helmet. The chin screen definitely cuts this out, but I find the lack of air annoying when temps are above 80 degrees or so.
During my dual-sport days, I didn't have much stuff getting up in my Shoei Hornet however. Maybe it's a little lower in the chin area? Never compared the 2.

EXO1000 FTW. I love this helmet. I have never had what the OP is describing happen to me with my EXO1000

Oh hell man. I have a little bitty airblade screen on my bike and it actively shoots bugs and such up into my eyes. I hate that thing. I need a chin skirt on my helmet bad.

My RF-800 (with chin skirt) injected a hard, little bug through the chin vent on me yesterday. It was warm and really humid yesterday and there were a LOT of bugs out. I suppose they were enjoying the beginning of autumn....

I have the RF-1000 too, and I never close my visor vent. I'll get little bugs coming in thru it once in a while, no where near half the time though!

I haven't had sand and pebbles drawn up, but I sure do get the small flies and gnats!! Especially when we ride by farms...

I also wear glasses under my helmet. :thumbup:

I was moving down I-70 on the way home from work the other day and a bug sucked into the top vent of my Exo 700 and buzzed around inside. I have no idea how it happened, but it did. Fortunately, it was right before my exit and I was able to lift the visor and get rid of it.

I have a Shoei RF1000, get crap in my eyes all the time. Wind screen helps but it annoys the hell out of me most of the time, I only wear it if it's going to be under 60 on the way into work. I need to get one of those balaclava things for colder days.

I have an HJC helmet and get things blowing up in my face all the time. Must be the aero of the bike, never happened on my CBR. Gotta get me a chin skirt.:thumbup:
