Clutch replacement

Just wondering how many of you that have changed your clutch?

I'm asking as I suspect my clutch is getting worn. It rattles a lot more than it used to, and I just "feel" it isn't 100% anymore. My bike has done allmost 40.000 km's.

If you have had a clutch change, please note down how many miles/km you had on your bike when that was done:thumbup:

Acutally... I replaced my clutch Cable.. not the clutch.. sorry. 30212Miles

Hei Capo, what are your riding habits like? I'm at 18,000 kms now but for the past 2,000 kms i was doing a lot of power wheelies and attempted clutch wheelies. Hmmmm maybe I should stop if I want my clutch to last longer lol.

Hehe, well... Quite aggressive, I'd say. A lot of throttle on-off. The closest thing you'll get a wheelie, I'd say. More important though, is that I do a lot of riding in heavy traffic. That also wears out the clutch, I reckon.

But, it might be just a worn clutch cable... Should try to grease it first, and it also might be just me getting a bit too concious about the bike's noice and sounds

I just replaced my clutch cable at 32k km, feels much better now

cable is fairly cheap so definitely try that out, for the price I wouldn't even bother to lube it

after I lubed mine it would feel nice for a day before being notchy and stiff again

I don't think it's the kind of riding, but rather the weather conditions that take a toll on things like the cable. A lot of rain like my bike has seen takes a toll on cables and bearings. My steering bearings were completely rusted when I took them apart at only 16k km

I,m the same as Vegas,40,000k's and still original cable and clutch.
Cable was a little stiff so I gave it a shot of lube and all was good again,still,I may change it soon,just in case.

36000km's...nothing has been changed as of yet...clutch works the same as it did when i got the bike....thanks Mr Yamaha!

im about 36k miles right now but think i will need to replace around 40K miles.

Being a wet clutch, it's almost bullet proof. I am at 20,000 miles and have had no problems :thumbup:
