Lone....

I am with you, I want a Sprint ST as well...I love my FZ, but if I had the spare cash, I would buy the Spint ST in a heartbeat. I like the look, the agressive riding position and the luggage. I know that the FJR also has these things, but it is more touring and less sport, where the ST is more sport and less touring.

I did read that the luggage was a little small though.

Anyway...I love the sprint ST and would definately buy one.

The only real question is if I could convince the wife that keeping the FZ was also required?

They're nice bikes and it seems like they can be had for cheap. I looked at an 01 that was $3k with Givi luggage and an 06 that was $6.5K and was pretty clean. They sound sooooooo good with a decent exhaust.

I'm with you as well. Id' love to have an ST. I see loads of them on my way to work every day and think they might be a lot better for the type of riding I do.

I hate their reviews though. I could be more informative than that. Hmmm...

I love the newer 1050cc Sprint ST's!! The newer engine sounds excellent, and has plenty of power. The revised luggage on the newer ones is a huge plus. The earlier models had really flimsy hard cases.

If I had more money, I would be riding a Sprint ST instead of an FZ6. Although it would be a tough choice between the Sprint ST and the FJR!

If you can afford it, go for it!!!

I know this is a what if situation....

But If I really wanted a great touring bike I would look at the FJR(sportier) or the new Connie (1400 ABS). As far as keeping the fz I think I'm in love with it and don't ever want to part ways with it. Its a great city bike and a mini tourer. I don't thinnk I could do very long distances with it but its still fun to ride. The Sprint looked decent and I'm sure will ride good as well. But honestly IMHO I wasn't too impressed with it. I would reccomend you go try a couple or the tourers out there.

Is it just me, or did that video that Lone posted make anyone else have motion sickness??? LOL. I love that MotorcycleUSA goes to the trouble of making review videos, but someone needs to tell them they don't have to try so hard to be unique.

Back to the OP's original question...LOVE this bike, but I agree that 554 pounds is a bit much. The looks are amazing, though, and the bags are a huge plus if you're going to be doing any touring (with twisties, of course).

Heat can be an issue on the Sprint. They have updated the fairing openings to reduce the heat blast on the rider but the heat under the passenger seat is still an issue. After a 30 minute ride on a 87 degree day, the passenger grab rails were too hot to hold on to with summer gloves.

Good looking bike, great engine, it is all in the details. The first gen FJR had heat issues that were eventually addressed. Maybe Triumph will make improvements as well. I do know they are slow to acknowledge any issues with their product based on my experiences with my Tiger.

No way I'd trade, I rode a Sprint when I worked for our local BMW shop. It was way top heavy and handled like a tank. Keep your FZ.

I only voted to keep the 6 because I'm not a fan of the Sprint. Nice bike, just that I'd like the 6 better. ;)
