Great pics.
CO 141 Oh Ya Baby! What a great road! Would be hard to keep it under 85 on the FZ6 for sure.
Arches was 95+ when I was there, looks cooler in your pics.
All those final drives made it?
LOL! Yep! lots of BMW's there, no final drive failures. But we did have several failures, including a failed chain on a V-Strom, a clutch slave cylinder (my bike: see write-up on this in my blog), a coil on a BMW GS, carburetor rebuild in the parking lot on a DR, and the list goes on. Wouldn't be an adventure without these things happening.
It was plenty hot while we were there: in the mid-90's Monday and Tuesday (the day I was in Arches). A front blew through Tuesday afternoon (no rain, just really strong winds) and the temps were cooler on Wednesday, down in the mid to high 70's.
If you haven't already, you should ride through Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction CO at the north end of CO-141. Some really tight, steep switchbacks going up the mountain, then incredible switchbacks and S-curves with fabulous views riding through the park to the north entrance, which of course means more tight and steep switch backs to get back down the mountain.
CO-141 is a GREAT road! 65-70 mph on those curves, for sure! Not too sure about the 85 mph though. We ran into a few, er, obstacles along the way including a large herd of cows in the middle of the road, an SUV stopped dead in the middle of the road around a blind curve to gawk at some bighorn sheep, and then there was this:
