HI all is it just me or do most of the members on here have the fazer (faired) fz6 ??? im a butt naked man myself !! i am new to this forum and would just like to thank all who put effort into making such a great site! your views on naked and fazers please!!!!!!!!!!

The reason you see mostly the faired model on here is because us lucky souls here in America don't GET the naked version, and that sucks! We also don't get the option of ABS. I think Yamaha is trying to tell us something...I just haven't figured out what yet.

There are tons of U.S. FZ6 owners that have done the naked conversion, using everything from the FZ6N headlight to the FZ1 headlight (my favorite) to a Buell headlight and everything in between.

I've got a faired '06 and have been itching to remove the fairing and go naked ever since I first saw Wavex's first naked conversion. The only issue is money and time (and my lack of mechanical skills...lol). I've often thought it would be fantastic if someone (who's not me) could come up with a "quick change" way of going from faired to naked and back again. Then us fairing guys could have the best of both worlds. Use the fairing for longer trips, colder weather, etc, and swap it out when it's warm and you want the badass look of a naked.

But alas...I guess I'll just stick with my fairing for now...

Basically cos the faired is just sexier and actually comfy to ride above 40mph. Checkout the forum on here called streetfighters for all sorts of naked goodness (bikes that is).

im sorry i didnt know that you guys dont get the naked out there ! thats like having the cone without the ice cream! at least the fazer boyz admit that the naked is more badass! :rockon:

Faired is way better than naked.... and visa versa. :thumbup:

It IS the Swiss Army Knife of bikes, right? I like the fairing on mine because sport touring is my bag. Both versions have their place and their fan base.

At first I thought it was a dumb idea to buy a naked bike, due to wind etc. But now, after having ridden the bike 5000 km since I bought it, I don't see the "problem". I commute in any weather (except snowy conditions), and the wind and rain don't bother me. I can cruise along the highway at 150 km/h with no problems at all. Last weekend, I did that a couple hours in one stretch. No aching anywhere:thumbup:

With the added bonus that the naked bike looks way cooler than the faired one, I'm a happy camper

Well i tour heaps on my naked...if your worried about wind blast on long trips, just get a fly-screen fairing that attach's via two bolts, takes about 2 minutes to fit, and remove, stops rain & wind hitting your chest, and when you get to where you are going, and want to do a bit of street riding...take it off....and leave it in your hotel room till you get ready for the big ride home!

I have buddies with the faired version, and i must say, i dont mind it, but the naked looks better...everytime i sit on one of the faired versions, i feel like i am sitting, looking at all this unwanted plastic in front of me!
