ASV lever brake light problem

Does anyone out there with ASV levers have a problem with the brake light switch? The tab that engages/disengages the brake light switch does not cover the switch. This results in the brake light staying on. It seems like a design issue to me since the tab is too far over to fully cover the switch.

I'm going to call ASV today when they open but wanted to hear from anyone who may have ASV levers.

On mine it came with a little extra piece you screwed onto the lever to make it work corectly.

strange that they wouldn't just send them with it on then.... Weird.

they dont send them with the piece on because diff bikes take diff pieces, the same lever goes on a few bikes, but i think each model takes a diff small tab... if you got a honda they are really strange... mine had the tab... they should come in one of three bags labeled "yamaha/suzuki" "honda" and "kawasaki" if i remember correctly

I called ASV, sent them a photo, and they said they'd run down to the local Yamaha dealer to check the fit.

There is a Yamaha specific piece for the clutch side.

I understand that they manufacture the base levers to be used on multiple bikes, but for the price you pay it would almost be "Nice" of them to assemble them for the bike that you ordered them for. Just little customer service things that make a business run smoother... (oh well end preaching customer service rant)

That's weird. I didn't have to install any tab on my ASV brake lever. I just put in the correct spacer and bolted it on. No problems with my brake lights either. I did however have to install a tab on the clutch lever but that was for the kill switch. Are you sure you got the right lever?

As you can see in this rather blurry photo (the best my phone would do in a close-up) the lever tab is resting just to the inside of the switch. What's it look like for you guys? Is the lever tab dead in the middle of the switch? If I wiggle the lever a little it will hit the switch but just barely.

I still have the box at home. I'm going to verify that I got the right part.
