Well, I did it... '05 to '08 and I don't have ANY regrets! Just do it!!! Especially the blue... sweet!!!! :drool:

What is stopping you?

What are the current mods on the '06? Most, if not all, will fit on the '08. Just fairing-specific stuff like the windscreen, will not transfer over. Sliders, FE Kit, custom cans? Seat? These all fit! Flushies? Fit too!

Well CrazyBiker here upgraded his 2006 to am 2006.5 (added a 07 fairing etc).

You might wanna check into that, might be cheapr than trading ur bike if thats the ONLY thing u don't like in the 06...

I'm obviously a red fanatic, but the '08 blue has some appeal...

Either way, you get better braking and a better power band with '07 or higher. It sounds more like you're looking for endorsement of a decision that you are having reservations with...hope we're not just playing Devil's advocate here. If you can get a good deal on your '06 then what the hell, go for it.

I personally love how the FZ1 looks and besides it doesn't take much to change the can o and its much cheaper than our bikes! I would have to say I like the cobalt blue much better than the 07 blue! also notice 07 was the only year of it the 08 and 09 are very close blue! I had enough of the "Yamaha" blue with my mx bikes over the years! and yes what did you end up doing?
