The wife and I are heading there in the first week of june for a little breather from daily life..... And we are always up to meeting fellow FZ6ers......

No but I went there for my honeymoon in September 08. You're going to love it. What part of the island are you staying on?

I miss the radio stations, the drinks, the natural beauty, the perfect weather, and the laid bike vibe. Such a nice place...

I only got a day and a half on Maui. We did spend a week in Oahu and a week on the Big Island though. We're itching to get back to Maui for two weeks.

Dennis, make sure you guys go Snuba diving at Molokini! You will not regret it! And the Royal Lahaina Luau is GREAT! Rent a bike and drive the Hana Highway... breathtaking! You'll stop SOOO many times for pics... it's not a long road, just takes forever to get through because you'll want to take it all in, one stop at a time!

I'd say have a great time but I KNOW you will!

Here's the trip through our version of the Traveling Gnome, Monkey. http://picasaweb.google.com/toyohtadude/MonkeySGreatAdventure# This was SF, Oahu, Maui then the Big Island.

Great pics Nate! Thanks for sharing!!

Nope, don't live in Maui, but the thought did cross my mind when I was there.

I stayed in Kaanapali too a couple of years ago. Like Eric said, you have to do the Molikini crater, it's awesome. We also took a trip up to see the rain forest in Hana - beautiful!

Lucky dog!

Awesome pics!! We will be staying here

great rate... I looked onto some bike rentals... I think we will get a goldwing there ( comfy for the wife...)

That is exactly where we stayed, Dennis. The shots in that Monkey link are from that place. The Monkey with the Desk Manager? All the little palm shots and water features are in their courtyard. Start here and look at the next 13 shots. http://picasaweb.google.com/toyohtadude/MonkeySGreatAdventure#4983007160733138962

Dennis, many of the roads are extremely tight. So be ready for that on the bike. You'll be fine....just take it easy and stay aware.

They re-opened the road that goes all the way around the Hana side of the island in mid-October but I wouldn't recommend doing it on a bike with your wife. It's super bumpy once you get about 25 miles past Hana and potentially dangerous as there is NO ONE out there except a few poor tourist-hating locals in pick-up trucks.

Be mindful of double-yellow crossing drunks.

I too considered living there :D
