im in my garage. what i thought was going to be a 45 minute job max has turned into much more than that.
i am following this guide:

and have progressed as far as trying to remove the oil filter.
it is now well past dark and im in my garage with the door shut but it being like 30 degrees celcius below zero.
here is the oil filter wrench i went out and bought:

and it just slides over the oil filter on the bike, but the oil filter i am waiting to replace it with it grabs snugly.
i dont get it. i am twisting counter clockwise. is it reverse or something for oil filters? is there some trick?
