For those of you who have/thinking of having these handguards:

Also - don't know how the LEDs are powered; batteries? I wouldn't be interested in yet more wiring.

How are they vibration wise?
I believe the heavy bar-ends are there to reduce handlebar vibration, - so how do the Hand guards impact on this?

The handguard fixing bolt is about the same weight as the OE bar ends, so I guess they do the same job in damping vibrations. Certainly, I don't notice any vibration problems with them now they're fitted.

Hmmm...pity. I'm probably going to pass on the handguard LEDs, then. I've already got enough going on with my bike electrics - headlight mod, heated jacket, heated grips, GPS, Scottoiler - I don't want to push it all too far!

I'm just guessing. I would imagine there is nothing stopping you from rigging your own 12v supply for those LEDs. That is beyond my scope of understanding tho. I emailed the guys at motostrano.com and they responded promptly with an answer (the LEDs are amber, not blue-ish like the pics). Perhaps you can twist their ear so to speak and see what's up.

Hmm...I found some wind powered LEDs on EBay once upon a time. How industrious do you feel? hehe

Those LED handgaurds would most deffinately be powered from the bike and not seperate batteries.

You could add in a realy and wire them into your front signals and easily make them addtional front singals.

As for load on your electrical system, powering a handfull of LEDs like these would be very minimal on your elctrical system!! I hear ya about having all those additional mods that are taking power, but adding these few LEDs into your system would be a very minimal draw on your system.

Issue I would see is getting the power to the Acerbis, from my memory of fitting them I don't think they had any route into the bar to feed the supply. If I did add the LEDs I would want to feed the cable through the bars and have it exiting at the centre ready to connect to the loom.

Any other route would need to jump the gap between the inboard end of the Acerbis and the bars which I reckon would look crap.
