Withdrawing an ebay item with bids? Help!

Easy peasy.

If the bike sells, post up on ebay saying,"Sorry folks. I rode the bike into town today to gas it up and put air in the tires, and somebody's grandmother in a Lincoln Towncar ran me off the road. I'm just a little bruised thanks to wearing full armor. But the bike's got a bent frame, bent forks, and the crankcase on the motor is split wide open. I'm canceling the auction. Sorry.

Of course everyone would wonder what the hell is a Lincoln Towncar doing in Aldermaston

The deed is done. I was following cmayer31's advice but actually it was far simpler. I ended the item early and a button popped up to cancel all bids and that was that. Had to give a reason which was 'item broken or lost' - a white lie. Thanks all.

The guy turned up and I sold it for £420 cash. I had hoped initially to get £400 so am chuffed. This is all profit as I'd covered all my outlays by selling spares that I didn't need from a donor bike I'd bought last year.

i bought a pit bike back last year "BUY NOW>>IMMEDIATE PAYMENT ONLY

i convinced him to let me pay cash buy telling him he would avoid paypal fee...he then went one step further by telling ebay that the transaction was not completed due to "mutual agreement"..by doing this he also avoided ebays auction fees too...pretty clever as we were both still able to give positive feedback ..result,as i then did the same thing to the guy i sold the bike on too
