I noticed it when I sprayed a bunch of rusty hooks I had with the WD-40, then went fishing! Worked like a charm. My dad says that Patchouli oil and almond oil also works, but never tried those . . .

WD-40 is the stuff of legend, it's true, but not all of the legends themselves are true. A little research for you:

To the OP, I used to swear by WD-40, but then I learned about PB Blaster (and now Kroil). WD-40 just doesn't work all that well for most of the stuff i want to do. I keep a can of it around for house jobs, but past that, it sits.

yeah, the old timers used to call it "weasel piss". It works well to move water out, but if you use it on a gun, you'll see rust in a few days.

Dude, are you guys serious about the fishing? Are we only talking about bait? I imagine if you're trolling or otherwise using lures it would wash off pretty quickly?
I also imagine the environmental types (among which I would count myself) would probably also point out that it's probably not a good thing to put that stuff in the water; then again, it can't be *that* much right? Your fish might taste a little funny. :Flash:
