I have a 2008 Cobalt Blue FZ6. What color windscreen should I get to replace the stock. Black, Blue, Dark Smoke, or Smoke. It's going to be a Puig Racing Windscreen from motorcyclesuperstore, unless you have a better idea.

Help me out, I have this money burning a hole in my pocket (smile).

Thanks

If you have pics, I'd like to see them. Yes, I plan on looking through it well tucked.

Thanks

I don't really understand HOW people look through their screens. Maybe its the newer model Fz6s, different windscreens or just the fact that I have boobs, but I have tried to get low enough to look through the screen. It just isn't even possible for me, no matter how tight I tuck.

How tall are you? At 5'8, I can get right behind the screen. In your case, I would blame the boobs.

As I posted earlier I'm just under 5'10" I seriously wonder if its because mine is a 2005 and a different style screen. My chin would have to be on the handle bars before I had to look through mine.

also depends on cup size :D

I'm 6'3 and have no prob to tuck down and look through the screen.

I would suggest a dark smoke. Looks better than pure black IMO, and you can still see through it.

Might be the model Steph. As for colour, I believe all 4 should be somewhat see through unless painted. I have seen black ones fade awkwardly though, and even turn colours making them ugly. Smoke and Dark smoke are practically the same, though this also depends on brand. I have never seen a blue screen that looks good... but would love to see a light blue see through.

Have you checked out Reiobard's photo in the bike of the month? He has a Powerbronze double bubble on it - and it looks really nice. I am thinking it will be my second mod for 2009. My first will (hopefully) be Motovation frame sliders - I have them on my Christmas list. :Flash:

Im 5'9 180, I painted my screen, because even when I lay down I'm still looking above the top. I painted it black with paint, looks awsome against the dark red bike.

I really like my puig double bubble. The wind protection is top notch. Being 6'2" I have found that when tucked I look just over the top. If I had it to do over again I would have probably gone with a darker screen. The puig look is not for everybody so take your time. You will find that the taller wind screen does help force the air over your shoulders and helmet at higher speeds. Good luck.

Hey Todd - did you notice any change in gas mileage after installation? Looks really nice by the way!

Well, I got the Dark Smoke Puig windscreen, here is a photo. I'm loving it. It does make a difference with the wind blast.

While I was replacing the windscreen the rubber nut dohicky fell off and I had to take the cowling (back portion) off to fish it out. Once that was done as I'm tightening the screws, one of the heads broke off. Why in the heck they used plastic screws I'll never know. Now I have to replace that one screw.

I also added Shogun frame sliders.

Loving Life.

They use plastic to save your health in case of a crash.
The screen goes off when you fly against it which should make such bad injuries as if you get with full pressure agains a hard mounted screen.
