I'm legit! BKK FZ6 Delivered

Well its official. I am now a real FZ6'er.
Took delivery this weekend of my 2008 FZ6. After skulking about the site for a couple of weeks, I am now legit.
Have little time to try it out. But what little driving I've done... WOW it feels so smoooooooth after my 92 Honda Hawk GT. Pleasure to ride. My wife even likes it.

Looking at Wikki it appears that the only difference is the paint on the cowling:

"The only difference is in appearance of front cowling around headlights, which is now black regardless of motorcycle color."

The dealer had a black one, I wanted a red one, the solution: a dealer paint job. Perhaps that explains the lack of black on the headlight cowling

The Candy (sometimes also referred to as Lava) Red only comes on the 07 model, not the 08. I'm pretty sure your dealer didn't paint it. It's just a 07 model.

Which is ok of course, since there are no significant differences with the 08.

Hmmm... so you think that the black one that I saw in the showroom was secretly swapped for a older red one? that's a bit of a stretch but anything is possible.

I never saw any other FZ6's on offer in that dealership. Why would they just not have offered me the red one when I went to buy?

I'll check the registration again tonight. Have I been duped? I'd look pretty silly wouldn't I? Does anyone know where I should look on the frame/engine for the year of manufacture?

Agreed. There is nothing to worry about, the 08 does not have any significant changes over the 07. Just enjoy it If you can play sad to the dealer and get a free service that's even better
