For those of you who are interested, I just wanted to throw together a little install guide. First off, I was very impressed with the quality and finish. The color matched the frame exactly.
It is easier to remove the three inner fairings and the actual turn signal bracket(8 screws for the fairings and two for each signal bracket) to get to everything. There is a clip you remove on the back side of the bracket and then you can push the turn signal out(see pic).
I like using the spiral wrap to protect the wires and give it a nice looking finish. There is a nice machined capture washer for the back of the LED assembly along with a nut to fasten. I added a lock washer to keep it from ever backing out. The rest is plug and play.(more to follow)

The spiral looking red wires are the inductor/heater wire(see pic) used to give a normal flashing speed. The directions say to keep these loose and breathable. I ended up cutting these off, because I thought the faster rate would get more awareness. I tried to get a lot of different angled shots so everyone could tell how it looks.(more to follow)

The rear install was a little more work. The seat must come up and the left rear cover must come off(one screw and two press fits). It is easier to drop the rear fender(see pic) to access everything. The signals remove the same way as the front. There is a small plastic bracket that protects the wires under the left can. It just snaps out. I found a blue/white wire at the relay in the picture that gives +12V upon ignition. I just tapped into that for the running light wires(one wire for each signal). Just re-assemble at this point and plug in the signal connectors. I ended up really liking the stock fender after I put the LED's in. I may sell my rumble concept FE if it ever comes in. The signal lights are 9 inches apart and red making it legal. If I use the FE, it may be narrower.

A few more pictures. I really think this is going to be my favorite mod.:cheer:

The LED'S are nice and bright and the signal flash is much brighter still. I think having two side marker lights is going to be a nice safety feature....same as the cars and Goldwings have. Hope this helps someone!:Flash:

Been considering doing this myself. What part number did you order for the rear? Didn't know they were available in red.

It may be best to call Roger Watsen himself. He is a soft spoken, really nice guy. Just tell him what you are looking for....here is the link to the page I got the part number and asked if he could make it in red: Yamaha FZ1 LED Signals

The phone is: 877-210-7665 (it is toll free)

Hope that helps.:Flash:

Hey Lucky, is that a smoked tail lens at all? How much - if you don't mind my asking? I did not know they made that blue color in 07....for some reason I thought it was the dark blue. Maybe that was 08.

ya its a smoked color but barley. its kinda like the light smoked puig windscreen. i think i paid $55us at pipecity.com

Went for another long ride today. Asked the rider behind me if he could see my blinkers. He said he noticed those more than the brake light. Here is a shot in direct sunlight. You can still see the LED, just not as physically large as the cruiser signals but definitely as bright.
