Hey Guys,

I just finished installing Priority Plus on my bike. It makes your rear signals running lights, brake lights and blinkers. When you apply the brakes the rear lights flase real quick for a couple seconds then get brighter. In my opinion this is the best mod I have done to date. I won't be missed, that's for sure. Took me about an hour to get wired up and working.

I bought it here. There is no need to replace any lights, it has a control box that does everythng electronically. It's pretty cool actually.

Pretty cool man... thanks for linking that. When I have a bit more cash on hand, I may do this project as well. I'm currently in the middle of converting to LED turns in the back, Watsen's in the front, and pod lights.

That looks great. Especially your lights for your top case. However, aren't brakelights suppose to be red? Your turn signals are yellow, and are used as brakelights? Is this correct?

You are correct! This is by no means legal, but alot of riders do it to get noticed. I know 6 riders that have done this mod(not the way I did), and none have ever received a ticket. It get me noticed, and that's what counts.

Although rear end collisions account for less than 10% for motorcycles accidents, I am a true believer of getting noticed. That's why I opted for the Hyper Lites which act as running lights and pulsating brake lights.

However......as not getting any tickets yet, you are leaving yourself vulnerable in receiving a ticket or at least providing a reason to get pulled over by a cop. Not all cops are cool and will nick pick everything and will just add this to their list of fines, especially if you're from out of state.

If I have any problems I'll convert to clear lights lenses and run red bulbs. If a cop wants to pull me over then so be it, I am 100% legal and have nothing to fear from being pulled over. I'll pay the meaingless ticket and fix it afterwards.

That looks great !!!!

I'm also a huge believer in you can never be too bright. If a cop wants to hassle you, he'll do it whatever you do. Rather be safe and smile when you get haslled.
A to 10%, i dunno about that, at least not here .... we get driven into from behind all the time, it's a REAL problem.

Some of us converting to strobes front and back, also illegal, but the cops are too dumb to know all the laws, and even if they do try fine, it's something we'd go to court to fight.

Taking life saving measures cannot be illegal.

There are alot of things we do to our bikes that are not quite legal. Those of you who have removed the reflectors from your forks, or your rear fender are also illegal. Those of you running HID lighting are running illegal. Those of you running at night without lighting your license plate are running illegal. Most of those flush mount signals are not DOT approved, so are Illegal as well. Lets see there are those that remove their cat, I not sure but I think it's illegal to mess with the emmisions of a vehicle? I think if you look closely at those Two Brothers exhaust you might find some fine print that states "FOR TRACK USE ONLY" not highway approved, or at least my pair did. I'm sure I could go on and on with ALL we do to make our bikes ILLEGAL.

Almost all the things I listed above make your bike LESS visiable. If the cops want to give me a hard time then so be it. If it saves my life just ONE time, was it worth it?:D I'm not a cat, so I only have that ONE life, and I plan on soing all I can to keep it.

It was super easy to install. I had already spliced into most of the wires perviously for the Givi lights so I simply had to soldier a new wire in. You do have to cut both + wires going to your rear flashers, but that's all the cutting that is required. Let me know if you need to know which wire color is what.

I still have all my reflectors and have also added 3M Reflective tape along my front forks. I still have my rear fender and my licence plate light is working. However, since my Hyper Lights are used as running lights, they are so bright that my licence plate is no longer readable at night because these LED's are blindingly bright. I still have my stock signals, no flush mounts, so I guess I'm one of the few who's still technically legal for the time being?

Cool Vegas, I knew you would be. I was simply stating what a lot of us do to make our bike less visable. I know you rely on the FZ as your primamy source of wheels, and admire that. I on the other hand use mine for recreatation and put a ton of mile on it doing so. I'm just shy of 10,000 with just over a year. In that same 10,000 I have been almost run over 5,000 times, cut off 1,000 times and generally not seen 10,000 times. I have chosen to make mself as visable as I can. Front, back and side to side.

Yes Ant, you and I think a like. It all about SEEINANBEEINSEEN! Why people do mods to become less visable is beyond me. No good if you're dead. Hey, it's hard enough to ride safely and trying to avoid the cagers, why make it even more difficult for them to notice you. I am only getting flush mounts if I don't compromise my visiblity. According to a member, the Watsen flush mounts are just as bright, or if not even brighter.
