I agree, it's creepy looking. It looks like a bush baby, confused and bug eyed. Doesn't look mean or confident. I still like it a lot more than the Suzukis though.

I like it a lot too, the front could take some getting used to, and I would definitely take those ginormous heat shields off the back but other than that me likey. Plus all the stock features make it a pretty sweet bike, I wonder how it gets reviewed compared to the CBR and if the ergos have changed any.
i must say that is a beautiful bike. waay too much bike for me, but it is an awesome machine. i love that white/maroon color scheme.

I like this bike. I like it a lot. Probably more bike than I need, but still sweet. Until I got a look at those bug-eyed headlights. Then I got a bit creeped out.

I think it is ugly. The 2005 R1 Raven is the best looking R1 in my opinion.

I rode over to an autoparts store looking for silverstars for my FZ6 and there was a red 2005 R1 in the parking lot. Sweet bike.

Do we think those round looking headlights are actual projectors or just a round lense in front of a reflector?

I was wondering the same thing. It almost looks like they're projectors of sorts, based on the convex shape. I wouldn't be surprised if they were.

you know what the funny thing is. The people that buy R1's dont usually buy them for their looks they buy them for their capabilites does it really matter what the bike looks like at 180mph? to be honest i like it i think it will also look better in person.

Edit: I now see where on the site that is does state they are projector headlights.
I now wonder if one is low and one is high beam or whether both are bixenon style projectors where the cutoff plate moves via solenoid. Anyone have any insight on this?
