Helmet strap not long enough for Helmet lock

Hi all,

I recently got my 08 FZ6 and I tried to lock my helmet on the helmet lock...but it seems that my strap is not long enough to reach the actual lock.

Maybe this is wrong, but I'm trying to hook the lock around the two metal rings that is on the strap (since it seems like the only secure point so that people cant just take it)

is anyone else having this problem too? if so, how did you guys fix it?
or is it just my helmet?

They make extenders. A small metal piece that goes thru the double metal rings and gives the strap a couple more inches of reach.
