Awesome ride! Thanks for all of the pics

I was exhausted last night...I rolled into home at around 9:30 PM, took a shower and crashed. Today I am sore :D

Great ride, great guys.....the weather was perfect.......75 degrees mostly.....not a cloud in the sky either day.....Calirider is a motorcycle road genius and a top notch tour organizer. Great job John and thank you for a great weekend and I know all 13 guys feel the same way

Some stats:

14 riders.....10 FZ6's, 2 Triumph's, 1 Buell, 1 Kawasaki

I rode 637 miles in two days....353 on day one and 274 escorting the boys out of SoCal on Sunday.

1 meet and greet dinner setting the tone and spirit of the group

1 breakfast.....

1 lunch at the Grizzly Cafe in Wrightwood.......they were great.....seperate checks for all 14 riders with out asking

1 dinner at a Portillo's Hot Dog.......I was quizzed for about 10 minutes by some older patrons asking if we were a motorcycle gang....about my leathers and boots....etc

Adult beverages while viewing a local high speed chase on TV for 3 hours...we couldn't pull away and neither could he.....he was pit manuvered finally.

One last run on some outstanding roads lead again by Calirider...and a mad dash down the last 90 miles of freeway to meet an appointment..in about 65 minutes...you do the math

And most importantly...new friends with the same interest in motorcycling as me.

Let's do it again next week.......cant wait

I'm home, back in the world's largest oven.

I'll post up picks in a day or two. It was nice meeting and riding with my new forum friends, Todd, Randy, Nate and Moe. It was nice seeing everyone again. I will have to add you to the list.

Once again, very well organized group ride. There are a lot of people who could learn so much by just participating in one of these rides. Amazing.

Oh by the way, Part II was great. Ojai!

The trip was a tremendous success. We had a great group of riders.
John,
Thank you so much for the effort in getting this planned as well as the input of others that made this meet such a success. I had a great time meeting with my well established friends as well as meeting friends I had already on this forum but never met in person. It's really fun being with a group that you feel relaxed with and then getting to share such awesome riding and roads.
I'm proud to have you all as my friends!

Here are some pictures. Some are from video capture as well as snaps from the same GoPro HD my neighbor "Doc", a fellow rider, was kind enough to loan me.

Meeting up with others in Mentone,Ca.

LMAO! My male dog does this too! What's up with that? But really I wish we (females) could do that!

Except for squirrel dodging, glad you all made it home safe.

And I think I'll be putting California on the "to see list"!

I don't have any pictures, sorry. Looks like others have it covered though. I might have some video put together in a couple of days.

Day 1 was great, riding with Lefty and Tailgate again, and meeting MoeDog. Took a rather nice road, HWY 25 down through Hollister, then slabbed it down on I5 to get to So Cal faster. Other than being boring and having to take an even more boring detour, it was okay. As expected we had to split lanes the last 25 miles or so which is tiring, but hey, it's LA.

Day 2 was as amazing as it was made out to be. We were all on time, which was important given our ambitious route, and the roads did not disappoint. I have two new favorite So Cal roads: Angeles Crest Speedway, I mean Highway, and Little Tujunga Canyon, both for different reasons. ACH is, ah, you have to ride it to know. It's miles and miles of big, predictable sweepers. Very nice. Little Tujunga Canyon is a technical but not goaty road that's a fun little exercise in shifting and braking.

Day 3, we are calling the "after party" LOL. Cali Rider and Racebrookes came out to see us off, and a total of 8 of us ended up riding up HWY 33 together. Got some video of that, it's always a fun road to ride. After those two and VEGASRIDER peeled off, DefyIntertia, Tailgate, Lefty, MoeDog and myself headed north. We hit the 58, which is miles and miles of boring with a couple miles of awesome just for kicks. We also got to experience HWY 229, Rossi's Driveway, which was interesting. I expected a faster road, and it was in parts, but it was mixed with some pretty tight turns too that mess with your groove. It also had some wild undulations that made it really interesting. I think it would be more fun the second or third time around, but we didn't have time. After that I peeled off and did the last part on the freeway by myself.

The best part is all the guys who showed up. Just a great group of guys, and I'm glad to be part of these adventures. Thanks again to all of our So Cal guys who helped make this happen. Cali Rider does the lion's share of the planning and being the group leader, and deserves a medal. Thanks John!

Fun fact: there were no naked FZs this weekend.

Yeah so, just had a baby! Layla is 23 hours premature but she is doing great.

Made it home with the cords showing on my rear. Actually, made it to the hospital...had to come straight here. I was 40 miles away when i got the news. Made it here with a few minutes to spare b4 my wife needed my help.

Just ordered some food...need to take a shower and maybe get to go to sleep in a couple hours.

Congratulations Nate, that's great news! 23 days, not hours, right? Glad everyone's healthy and happy (and together, imagine if this happened a day earlier...).

Enjoy your new family!!!
