Poll it up...How many people ride & listen to music?

Some people need a distraction to stay focused. I am lucky that I work well with distraction (comes in handy working in an office with 8 people taking at once!) and I love listening to music when I ride. I also agree that if you can not focus on riding with the distraction of music, then...

    Liscense or No?

Well, when I was younger it was bike, gear, permit, licence... After an 8 year break in riding and California not transfering my Motorcycle license it was.... Permit, MSF, License, Bike/Gear(same day), then BUSA!!!! I am very happy that I bought all my gear and bike together, it saved me...

What's your biggest fear whilst riding?

I am most worried getting caught with one wheel in the air by a local law enforcement officer.... a close second is getting caught exceeding the speed limit by a local law enforcement officer I try not to have "fears," however; I do think of risks constantly! I am a believer in stay alert...

Young GIs, Cash and Fast Motorcycles

It is so easy to go buy a bike and not think about what is next. The Army's Motorcycle Mentorship Program is a good start. It is a lot of work to get it going, but it is good to get the information out. I am the MMP Coordinator for our unit and I get calls and emails asking about bikes...

Hello Mr. Pavement, names Matt, nice to meet you

You made it through this well, it is good you were not seriously hurt. Ice and motorcycles don't mix, unless you have those metal studs in your tires! Treat all standing water as very dangerous, you never know how deep it is! Glad you are doing well, hope the bike is back in shape sooner...

    Coffee...

That was a great story! Whenever I think of coffee stories I am reminded of Pulp Fiction.... "I know my coffe is good" .... the quote goes on!

have you ever owned a bike you didn't like?

Well, I almost did! I had always heard the SV 650 was a great bike, but I had never ridden one. My buddy bought one and I rode it for him when he was TDY. It was not the bike for me! I didn't like the feel of the small twin versus an inline 4. I thanked him when he got back for allowing me...

    Paying Attention

Think about how differently you ride when you first come back! I know I don't want to ride close to anyone, I ride a lot faster (damn Busa!), and I feel anxiety, plus road rage is worse! I agree with everyone that you should always pay attention, having to hit something, ride over something...

A question for our police members or those that know some

To the original question, no Police, State Troopers, etc. have the same rights you do when it comes to policy. The can write to their officials and request changes. Mostly it comes down to budget and how many complaints. We have a deadly highway near my house that they have made large...

Why you NEVER park your bike outside of a bar...

I can't count the number of times I have caught people trying to get on my bike or someone elses. I generally approach them with, "would you mind if I sat in your car." When asked this questions I usually saw the WTF look and I calmly relpied with "that is why I don't want you sitting on my...

    Power Delivery

Based on the comments above, the FZ6 has what you need. It has a usable power band that doesn't get interesting until around 7,500 RPMs. It has an upright seated position so it is good for around town as well as longer trips. It doesn't have the best wind protection, but it is WAY better than...

    Military Photos

Well, I have more pics, but being on an Iraqi Base is not pretty! I attached pics of where our LNOs were in Mosul, a picture of my first day on the Iraqi side of Taji (rocket attack), and me after playing soccer with the Iraqi Soldiers.

    Favorite assignment/TDY/PCS/whatever

Bad Toelz Germany and Stuttgart Germany. I loved both times I was there and I would go back in a heartbeat! Riding over there was awesome, they have some killer tracks, back roads rock and the Autobahn well it is the Autobahn! BTW.... the speeding cameras can't see your plates when you are...

my old bike pics the history of "me"

Thanks for sharing your bikes! I don't think you would like the footpeg height of the Bandit 1250, just my two cents. I will have to find pics of my younger (dumber) days!

Video of San Fran Cop fatally shooting man

This is an incident very similar to one that changed procedures in Sacramento, CA. The officers were not required to carry their tazers on opposite or "non-firing" side and an Officer fully intending to taze a suspect shot them. The big difference was the suspect didn't die. If you look at...

    Hello all...

I hope the range of motion returns and you get to ride with no discomfort! After my accident, when it is cold, my wrist bothers me... but heated gloves makes such a difference!

Concerns About Getting a Mix of Lower Octane Fuel

Where are you getting your information from? I believe the owners manual requires a minimum of 89 or 90 octane for the FZ6. Please correct me if I am wrong as I do not have my manual with me.
