My uneducated guess is that since the FZ8 is pretty darn close to the 2006-present FZ1, it is reliable. The old tech also means you're probably getting less for your money than you would with some of the competitors' newer designs.

The bike is beautiful. I almost bought the old Z750 instead of the FZ6, but the insane vibration and diminutive ergos scared me away. Hopefully they've fixed both of those problems.
