Your brake has a slot that fits on the nub you’re talking about. You need to take the wheel off again and as you put it back on you have to get the caliper on the nub at the same time. The nub and the slot allows your rear brake to slide back and forth so you can make chin tension adjustments...

To be honest.....If you want aftermarket cans, get them for the look and sound, don't even worry about hp gains. Some brands need power commanders, others don't. Either way, if you do get a little power gain it's nothing that's going to pin your ears back if you know what I mean.

I've got the stainless Scorpions too. I really like them. The tone is fantastic and they look much better than the faux stock plastic cans.
