Anyone ever read this amazing book?? Changed my life and made me want to fix my bike rather then let others do it. Any other books you've read that changed your life??
A friend of mine gave it to me but I haven't read it yet, although I do 95% of my maintenance anyway. But you have reminded me I have it so I'll dust it off this week and give it a go.
Never read that book but I've had my bike for 4.5 years now and it's never been into a shop, not even for tires...I change my own tires with an HF changer and a motorcycle static balancer....paid for themselves after 2 tire changes.
A real life-changer for me was The Cellestine Prophecy by James Redfield.
A book with a message of self enlightenment wrapped up in an easy to read story. Although its aimed at helping the reader understand their place in the world and how we relate to each other, it never sounds preachy. In fact it has been translated into almost every language and supposedly has out-sold the Bible!! Everyone from Doctors to Waitresses have read it and just about all take something away that helps them on their journey. (And no, I'm not specially religious or an old hippie )
I've been meaning to read this one. I read an excerpt of it in eBook form and it was great. I gotta say that if all you came away with was "I'm going to do my own maintenance now" you are probably doing it wrong .
I've been listening to a lot of Alan Watts, too. Oh, and a friend showed me this site today, hilarious: The Dude De Ching
all the old people at work who never ride have read this book and tell me that i have to read it. i never will. they made me watch easy rider, too. i dont see the big deal.
