All this talk about adhesive wheel strips has got me to thinking. My Fazer is totally black, rims and all.
Seriously, IF I went with the one-piece, non-reflective strips - what color would look best on an all-black bike? (I'm leaning toward blue)
I appreciate your input.

(Who am I kidding? Just messing with you about the "Seriously" part up there!)

Blue would look bada$$ on a blacked out bike!!! I say go for it. I put blue reflective ones on my blue bike. I picked them up from dunstan graffix. They came in a 4 piece per side per wheel format. Those were a piece o cake to install once I got the hang of it. I've never seen the one piece style so I can't give much advice there but just take your time and make sure you clean the wheels really well with some kind of alcohol based solvent before you apply the strips and you will be happy with the results. Good luck:thumbup:

Blue would look very sweet. Red or white may be too striking on an all black bike, unless you plan to add more highlights.

I can't remember who it is, but one of the members (who I think just converted to naked) has a black FZ6 with PURPLE wheel stripes and it looks amazing.

I've been considering putting some blue ones on my blue '06...can anyone recommend a place to pick them up (preferably the 4-section per side of each wheel)?

Now, back to the OP...the black rim stripes, that are obviously reflective at night, would look good, but you will only get their effect at night. If mine were a black bike, I'd want something that made the wheels pop, even during the day. Something like red, blue, or yellow.

Just remember, whatever color you choose, the only thing that matters is that YOU like it. I love it when people personalize their bike to their own tastes.

Smokenu (on our forum) did his black bike with yellow wheel stripes and it looked good! I think he did his swingarm decal in yellow also...
He might even have some pictures you can look up.

I like red or yellow on a black bike. I'd look for reflective ones if you can - look identical in the daylight and you get the benefits.

I recently had the dilemma, a graphite bike with burgundy seat and bronze wheels. I opted for black reflective and you don't really notice it at all in the daylight. But sounds like you're not wanting the stealth look :)

BTW I tried (and failed) the one-piece version with the applicator. Far too fiddly for me and then when I worked it out, still didn't work.

Purple rim stripes FTW!! Purple is my favorite color, so I've been doing some purple accents on my bike. (Grips, Levers w/Purple adjusters, Wheel Stripes)

Here's an older picture with them on that is better quality, but before I did the Buell conversion...

I'm not a huge fan of blue, so I would say go for something different. Red always looks nice IMO.

At the start of this thread, I didn't have anything nice to say about rim stripes, so I was keeping my mouth shut. But this thread has gotten me kinda wanting some yellow ones for my black beauty.:BLAA:

You know, I had not even considered yellow, (or purple), until today. Several members have suggested that. Thanks. (Now I'm really confused! ; )
