yamaha are bringing a new diversion out in 2009 using a detuned fz6 engine to make it more novice friendly, the biggest shock is its quite a nice looking bike.

And if u look closely at the new american fz6r you will notice a fair amount of resemblence except the fairing

same everything inc light but fairing is smaller and different in that it does not have the big air scoops which suggests there eye candy for our american cousins

so i wonder what is actually de-tuned on it, getting that bad boy back up to 100HP would be awesome. I wonder if they used the old throttle stop trick like they do for the 33HP FZ6... easy 20 HP mod for the FZ6R

There are a few changes in the engine in that the crankcase housing is all 1 and its lower powered with more torque for beginners as it said in MCN

America has its own inhouse design team, they are replacing what was an early r6 so they have made it look a little more sporty with brighter colours also

The frame is tubular with what looks like the old fz6 03-06 rear end

made to compete with the gsx650f and hornet apparently
