I've been watching the EPL on Fox Soccer Channel for the past 7 or 8 years. If I were able to watch either channel (espn or fox), I'd watch whichever one used British commentators. I'm not a fan of American football commentators...
It is great that there's finally a U.S. station, besides Fox, paying attention to English football.

Just curious...what's the difference between the American and British commentators...(besides the accent)?
I have recently gotten addicted to "Top Gear", the humor in that show is great.

American commentators = good for American sports like American football, basketball, baseball, etc...
British commentators = good for British sports like Football (soccer), Rugby, rowing, etc...
Top Gear rocks. It's one of the best shows on British television along with Question Time.

Please don't get me wrong, this is a personal taste thing.
But I like the way that the brits are able to provide a stream of commentary throughout a football match. I think that they have a richer history with the game of football, and they almost always seem to know a great deal about all of the players (yeah, they're probably reading stuff from a laptop, but they do it pretty seamlessly if they are). Whereas american commentators really only seem able to give a play by play without much "color." And in the end, it just sounds like I'm watching football in a frat house. (no offense to frat guys...)
In end, I think it's great if football gets more coverage here. I'd love to see the American game mature. I get bummed watching U.S. league play on American Football (the throwing kind) pitches. It's just wrong.

Interesting....I have watched a fair amount of British comedy shows over the last few years and I enjoy them very much....Anyway I will have to look for a game with British commentators...

Yep, you pretty much nailed it there. Although, I am a fan of the commentators they have for Champions League games on ESPN2, Derek Rae and Tommy Smith. They seem knowledgeable enough for me.

Also, I heard Setanta went belly up, that might mean more games on Fox. ESPN got rights to broadcast EPL games only in the UK I think.
