Two things mate,
We have done this thread already http://www.600riders.com/forum/bar/3220-motorized-unicycle.html and it has got two wheels. So to answer your question, the Uno needs two wheels lol.

LOL, hmm, a test ride on a one of a kind unicycle...i dont think my wallet would ever forgive me if i dumped it, and i would probably be able to figure out how to do it as i dont thinks its exactly designed for guys over 6' and 200+lbs
